The Pride has the chance to tie their best home start since the 2016-17 season on Wednesday, Dec. 7, as they welcome the Army West Point Black Knights at the David S. Mack Sports & Exhibition Complex. The Pride carries a 3-4 record into the contest, which includes a 3-0 mark in their home court. Army currently holds a 2-5 record on the season and is yet to claim a victory on the road. These two schools have met 10 times and split the all-time series evenly, with Hofstra claiming the most recent meeting by a score of 81-78 in 2020.

The Pride is coming off a tightly contested 74-71 win over the Long Island University Sharks on Saturday, in a game that saw four Hofstra players score in double figures. Freshman guard Emma Von Essen tallied a career-high 17 points in her first career start, while Zyheima Swint and Rosi Nicholson poured in 19 and 11 points respectively.

The win also saw graduate guard Brandy Thomas post 19 points and 14 rebounds en route to her third double-double of the season. Thomas currently leads the team in scoring and rebounding with averages of 13.6 points and 9.1 boards per game, in addition to being the Pride’s most efficient 3-point shooter with a 47.4% mark from downtown. Junior guard Ally Knights has been the facilitator on offense thus far this season, leading the team with 3.7 assists per game while shooting 40% from the field.

Army snapped a five-game losing streak with a 50-48 win over the Sacred Heart Pioneers in their most recent contest, their first win since Nov. 7. The Black Knights are led by senior forward Sabria Hunter, who averages a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds per game while shooting 55.1% from the field. Hunter has stuffed the stat sheet on both ends of the floor this season, currently leading the Black Knights in points, rebounds, steals and blocks. Sophomore guard Lauren Lithgow has seen her role in the offense drastically increase this season, averaging a career-best 9 points per game, compared to just four points per season a year ago.

The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on FloHoops, while WRHU will carry an audio-only broadcast. All links to streams and stats can be found on GoHofstra.com.
