Hempstead
-On Nov. 25, a victim was in front of 233 Fulton Avenue when a black male punched him in the mouth and stole his wallet, which contained U.S. currency. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.
-On Nov. 22, Hempstead police officers responded to a call of shots fired on Gladys Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Ryan Harris, 18, of Harriman Avenue, the victim of a gunshot wound. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was transported to Nassau University Medical Center morgue pending a medical examiner’s report.
-On Nov. 21, a victim was in front of a residence on Elm Avenue when an unknown black male struck him in the head with a handgun and shot him in the upper right side of the chest. The victim was transported to Winthrop Hospital where he is listed in serious, but stable condition.
-On Nov. 19, Hempstead police responded to a call for a disturbance at the home of defendant, Lawrence Euell, 21, of Nassau Parkway, where, after an altercation with his mother, and subsequently, a responding neighbor, the defendant barricaded himself into an upstairs bedroom and then used a lighter to set fire to a mattress and a box. NCPD Emergency Services Bureau forced entry into the bedroom, where Euell was taken into custody and transported to Nassau University Medical Center in serious condition with burns to his face, hands, neck and trachea.
-On Nov. 18, detectives reported that unknown subject(s) fired several rounds from an unknown caliber weapon and hit a male victim, 20, in the foot and another male victim, 29, in the hip, while the victims were inside a residence on Terrace Avenue. The subject(s) fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Hicksville
-On Nov. 27, a commuter found a deceased full term male baby in a bag on the B platform of the Long Island Rail Road Station in Hicksville. The baby was placed in a white plastic bag in a trash bin near the waiting room. The body was removed to the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s Morgue. Police are asking the public’s help in identifying the baby and anyone who may have knowledge of the circumstances.
Uniondale
-On Nov. 18, a 19-year-old victim was driving eastbound on Cedar Street when he believed he felt a flat tire on his vehicle. He pulled over to the side of the road and exited his vehicle to check his tire and heard a loud bang. After re-entering his vehicle and driving off, the victim felt a severe throbbing and pain in his left ankle and realized he had been shot.
-On Nov. 22, Kyle Williams, 33, of Hillside Avenue, working in consort with an unarrested black male subject entered the 7-11 store on Jerusalem Avenue, and confronted the two clerks, male victims ages 30 and 47. They instructed the victims to step away from the cash register before they removed an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. They fled the scene in a 1996 Honda Accord. A male witness, 39, followed the subjects through the side streets to Ditmas Avenue and Alexander Road, where the unarrested subject exited the Honda and walked past the witness and fired three rounds from a handgun at the witness. The rounds did not strike the witness or his vehicle and the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
-On Nov. 26, a shooting occurred on Uniondale Avenue at Midwood Street. The victim, Craig Walker, 22, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 4:10 a.m. by hospital staff.
Wantagh
-On Nov. 25, Laurel Buianouckas, 58, of Mclean Avenue, left her home and has not been seen since. She is described as a white female, five feet seven inches tall, 150 pounds with blonde hair, blue eyes, and wearing a light colored top and blue jeans. Her physical condition is good, although she suffers from dementia. Detectives ask anyone with information regarding the missing person to call the Missing Persons Section at 516-573-5370.
