ATLANTIC 10 NORTH
Massachusetts (6-0, 4-0): The Minutemen continued their dominance of the A-10 with a big effort against Rhode Island. Steve Baylark rushed for a career high 235 yards and two touchdowns as UMass overcame a 10-point deficit to win its fifth straight, 41-16.
Maine (5-2, 4-0): Arel Gordon ran for 118 yards and a touchdown as the Black Bears defeated Hofstra, 21-10. For the second straight week Maine’s defense held its opponent to negative yardage on the ground.
New Hampshire (5-2, 2-2): New Hampshire has shockingly lost two in a row after starting the season 5-0. The most recent loss came at the hands of Northeastern in overtime, 36-35. Ricky Santos ripped up the Northeastern secondary, throwing for 434 yards.
Northeastern (3-4, 2-2): John Sperrazza threw a 20-yard touchdown pass on fourth and five and then converted on a two-point conversion as Northeastern topped New Hampshire in a wild one. Maurice Murray scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to help send the game into overtime.
Hofstra (2-5, 1-3): The Pride continued to struggle in its loss at Maine. The Pride got a good effort from backup quarterback Dennis Davis, who came off the bench to lead his team to 10 unanswered points. Rob Zarrilli kicked a career best 52-yard field goal in the loss. Rhode Island (2-5, 0-4): The Rams continued to lose and are still winless in the conference. After jumping out to a 13-10 lead, they mustered only a field goal in the second half, losing 41-16.
ATLANTIC 10 SOUTH
James Madison (6-1, 4-0): James Madison continued its winning ways against William & Mary on Saturday. Eugene Holloman once again led the way with 118 yards and a touchdown as the Dukes won, 31-17.
Richmond (5-2, 2-2): The Spiders took a 24-14 lead into the fourth quarter but could not hold on at home against Delaware. Richmond did not get a strong effort from quarterback Eric Ward, who passed for 165 yards and an interception. Towson (5-2, 2-2): After starting 4-0 and proceeding to drop two straight, Towson got back on track with a win over Villanova. In the 21-13 win, Sean Schaefer passed for 324 yards and two touchdowns.
Delaware (4-3, 2-2): Jared Bradley scored with 43 seconds remaining as the Fighting Blue Hens upended Richmond, 28-24. Joe Flacco was extremely efficient once again, passing for 305 yards and two touchdowns.
Villanova (2-5) (1-3): Villanova was abysmal on offense gaining only 166 yards in falling to Towson, 21-13.
William & Mary (2-5) (0-4): William & Mary allowed one touchdown in each quarter as the Tribe fell to James Madison, 31-17.
