- A Residential Life staff member reported that while conducting a health and safety inspection in a room in Estabrook Hall on Jan. 12, he found a black sword, which was confiscated. The residents of the room were issued appearance summonses.
- A Residential Life member reported that while conducting a health and safety inspection in Republic Hall, he found bottles of wine, vodka and a knife on Jan. 12. The items were confiscated and the residents were issued summonses.
- A Residential Life member reported that while conducting a health and safety inspection in Vander Poel Hall, three bongs containing pot residue were found on Jan. 12. The items were confiscated and the residents were issued summonses.
- A Residential Life member reported while conducting a health and safety inspection in Enterprise Hall, a 14 in. tall Hookah containing marijuana residue was found on Jan. 12. It was confiscated and the residents of the room were issued summonses. The Residential Assistant in Bill of Rights Hall reported two males and one female in an elevator, with one male urinating inside on Jan. 12. Public Safety responded and the three non-students, Richard Thomas, Dana Romero and Timothy Vyscocil, all 18 from Islip Terrace, N.Y., were banned and the student of whom they were guests received a summons.
- A student reported that she was walking in the East Circle on Jan. 24 and was approached by a suspicious man who walked up to her carrying a pendulum and informed her that he wanted to hypnotize her. The student ran away, and the non-student, Matthew Kagan, 22, of Levittown, N.Y., was apprehended and banned.
- A Nassau County police officer reported on Jan. 29 that two female students who were walking off campus in the vicinity of Warrant Street were accosted by a male who forcibly removed both their pocketbooks, containing cell phones and $25. One student was punched in face and suffered a broken cheekbone; they were transported to Nassau University Medical Center, treated and released. An investigation is underway.
- Public Safety received a report on Jan. 21 of an assault in progress at the Netherlands South booth. A student stated that there was an attempted sexual offense on her by another student who resides in the residence hall; an investigation is underway.
