She came to America from France when she was 10 years old and didn’t speak any English. Now, Pascale Ngo speaks three languages, is working toward a math degree and French minor and is active in extracurricular activities on campus.
Ngo, a junior, who originally lived in California when she moved to the U.S., isn’t quite sure why she came to the University. However, she firmly believes that God put her here and says that it feels like her “home away from home.” She is very family-oriented. She has an older sister who just began teaching French this year, a younger brother and an amazing mother who raised them. “I wish I could hug her right now,” Ngo said. “I miss them a lot. I haven’t seen them since the beginning of the summer.”
On campus, Ngo is busy most of the time. She was on the crew team for a year and a half and is now the treasurer for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. After being in the position for two years, Ngo said she enjoyed seeing the club grow and mature. On top of classes and homework, Ngo is also a math tutor and works in Hammer Lab. She is active in Schools for Schools and she hopes to get more involved to help raise more money.
Ngo loves making crafts and her favorite movie to watch is “A Walk To Remember.” Give her some sort of nut to eat: hazelnuts, peanuts, walnuts, you name it, and she will eat it.
Ngo plans to attend graduate school and go back to California to teach.
