“I feel awful about the situation. Stuff like this shouldn’t happen anymore . I can’t believe how judgmental people are. I am not exactly sure how one could right these wrongs. The perpetrators need to be found, but an appropriate punishment is difficult to find. Community service definitely isn’t enough.”

“I am shocked at the recent events, but definitely not surprised. Jena 6 has opened the door for such racist acts and prejudice debates. As much as we deny it, there will always be these troubles. How to deal with them is the first problem, and how to punish them is the second dilemma.”
Ahesha James Senior, English Northshore, NY
“I am absolutely appalled at the situation. America prides itself upon being a diverse and welcoming culture when in reality, racism is still occurring in 2007. As far as a punishment is concerned, tolerance is not the answer; action must be taken to prevent this type of situation from occurring in the future.”
