James Madison (12-1-1, 5-0-1)-The 30th ranked Lady Dukes moved into first place with wins over William and Mary and Old Dominion. Sophomore Corky Julien scored the game winning goal against William and Mary while Cate Tisinger became the third freshman to record a hat-trick, which was done in the game against Old Dominion. The Lady Dukes travel to Hofstra and Northeastern this week.
William & Mary (9-4-1, 4-1-1)-The Lady Tribe posted a 1-1 record last week, defeating VCU after falling to James Madison. Senior Emily Kittleston scored the only goal in the win over VCU; the Lady Tribe were shut out against James Madison. This week they are home to face Towson and George Mason.
VCU (7-6-1, 4-2)-The Lady Rams completed a tough week, losing close matches to both William and Mary and Old Dominion in double overtime. Old Dominion scored as time expired in the second overtime. Junior Jasmine Riley scored for the fifth straight game against Old Dominion but that streak ended as they were shut out by William and Mary. This week the Lady Rams travel to Northeastern and Hofstra.
UNC Wilmington (7-5-1, 3-3)-The Lady Seahawks defeated Northeastern but fell to Hofstra to go 1-1 last week. Junior Kelly Renkin scored twice in the victory over Northeastern, but the Seahawks were shut out against Hofstra. This week the Lady Seahawks travel to Delaware and Drexel.
George Mason (7-6, 3-3)-The Lady Patriots rebounded from a tough loss against Delaware to trounce Drexel 4-0. Delaware scored the game winning goal in the final minute of play. The Lady Patriots had four different players score in the win over Drexel, including senior Sarah Fack’s first goal of the season. Trips to Old Dominion and William and Mary lay ahead this week.
Towson (8-4-1, 2-3-1)-The Lady Tigers snapped their two game losing streak with a tie against Drexel, and then went on to defeat Delaware. Senior defender Meghan Labiak scored her first goal of her career in the win over Delaware. Drexel rallied late in the second half to earn a tie with the Lady Tigers. This week they will travel to William and Mary and Old Dominion.
Old Dominion(6-4-2, 2-3-1)-The Lady Monarchs handed VCU their first loss of the season on a Lisa Mckenzie goal in the final minute of the second overtime, but also lost to James Madison. Freshman Kelsey Williams notched two goals in the loss, but was named CAA Rookie of the Week. The Lady Monarchs host George Mason and Towson this week.
Georgia State (7-6, 2-4)-After losing to Hofstra, the Lady Panthers dropped Northeastern to complete a 2-2 home stand. Senior Nathalie Carter and junior Kristen McKillop scored in the 2-0 win over Northeastern. Junior Kara Vezza scored the only goal for the Lady Panthers against Hofstra. This week they will head off to Drexel and Delaware.
Delaware (6-7, 2-4)-Even though they defeated George Mason on a last second goal by freshman Amy Pickard, they were unable to score against Towson. The Lady Blue Hens have lost four of five overall. This week the Lady Blue Hens head home to take on UNC-Wilmington and Georgia State.
Drexel (4-6-3, 0-4-2)-The Lady Dragons were able to notch a tie with Towson but were downed by George Mason in dominating fashion, 4-0. The Lady Dragons have yet to record a win in conference play this season. Freshman Michelle McKinley scored the tying goal in the 68th minute of play against Towson. This week the Lady Dragons host Georgia State and UNC-Wilmington.
Northeastern (2-8-3, 0-4-2)-The Lady Huskies failed to record a goal as they were outscored 5-0 in losses to UNC-Wilmington and Georgia State. The Lady Huskies remain winless in conference play and are 0-6-3 since their last win in early September against Holy Cross. This week the Lady Huskies will try for their first CAA victory with home contests against VCU and James Madison.
