-According to detectives, after arranging a meeting at an area motel via the Internet, Yolanda Morales, 22, of Lancaster, Pa., offered to engage in sexual activity with an undercover officer in exchange for money on Oct. 9.
Elmont
-Joseph Pirrello, 20, surrendered at the fifth precinct on Oct. 3 for an incident that occurred on Oct. 1 where he threw a glass bottle through the rear window of a marked Nassau County police vehicle that was parked, locked and unoccupied.
-David Wilson, 48, purchased over $5,500 worth of tools from the Nassau Slings Company on Oct. 3 and paid with a check from a personal banking account that had been closed four months prior.
Freeport
-Omar Hemmings, 23, of Cambria Heights, N.Y., attempted to enter an unoccupied residence on Mount Joy Ave. through a rear window on Oct. 2. Freeport Police arrested the defendant at the scene of the crime and found him to be in possession of a black bag containing a knife, an unloaded handgun, duct tape, gloves, a bandana, a hood and a flashlight.
-On Oct. 9, Freeport police were dispatched to a call for burglary at the Bethel AME Church where they discovered unknown persons had broken into the building through a basement side-window and removed property, including the contents of a food-pantry cash box.
Roosevelt
-A 26-year-old male, while walking in the vicinity of Park Ave. and Washington Ave. on Oct. 10 was approached by a black car that was occupied by four Hispanic males. One of the occupants produced a handgun and shot the victim three times striking both his legs. The vehicle fled the scene westbound on Washington Ave.
Roslyn
-On Oct. 2, eight victims received an envelope in the mail addressed to them, containing a photocopy of an article from the Roslyn news dated Sept. 13. The article contained information and details about criminal mischief that occurred in the Roslyn area in which swastikas were spray painted in various locations. On the photocopy, the word “swastika” was highlighted in yellow marker wherever it appeared and two additional pink swastikas were drawn on the photocopy.
Manhasset
-Kevin Bowser, 42, entered Manhasset Optical Group on Oct. 1 and took a pair of Versace sunglasses and placed them into his bag. When confronted by the sales clerk, he shoved the victim and fled from the store. When the defendant was apprehended, he was also found to be in possession of hypodermic needles and a white powder substance.
North Lawrence
-Eric Manson, 44, while in a Costco parking lot on Oct. 2, was found to be in possession of nine Movado, two Rolex and four Breitling counterfeit watches causing a loss to the industry in the amount of $17,191.
Valley Stream
-Herman Karner, 80, was operating his 2005 Nissan Maxima southbound on Hicks Street at the intersection of Surrise Highway when he was in collision with a 1997 Freightliner box truck. He was pronounced dead by Nassau University Medical Center staff at 7 p.m.
