East Garden City
-A joint investigation conducted by the Garden City Police, Rockville Centre Police, Nassau County Police Narcotics/Vice Bureau, Bureau of Special Operations and Highway Patrol resulted in four arrests on April 20. Irvin Gonzalez, 33, Marvin Gonzales, 26, Angel Rivera, 24, and Paul O’Connell, 60, attempted to purchase a kilogram of cocaine from undercover detectives. They seized $26,400 in cash.
East Meadow
-According to police a vacant residence with no working utilities, located on Hempstead Turnpike, sustained damage to the floor in a second story room on April 23. The fire was extinguished with the aid of 75 firemen from Floral Park, Valley Stream, Stewart Manor and Elmont Fire Departments.
Elmont
-Police reported that Vernestine Kirkland, 46, negotiated counterfeit Citibank checks at several CVS stores in Nassau County on April 19. Between February 2005 and July 2006, the defendant negotiated 27 counterfeit checks for approximately $5,300.
Lawrence
-Philip Fasso, 34, of Wantagh, fondled a 16-year-old female student beneath her clothes as she stood to leave after an afternoon tutoring session at a school on April 19, according to police. As the victim was struggling away from the defendant, a school security guard observed the incident and brought the victim and Fasso to school administrators.
Lido Beach
-John Daly, 33, while employed as a custodian at the Long Beach High School, was arrested April 19 for watching several female victims, all minors, getting changed in the girls’ locker room.
Massapequa
-Denise Milanesi, 36, has been charged with depositing a fraudulent check from a closed personal account on April 17 into a Massapequa branch Commerce Bank and proceeded to make withdrawals against non-existent funds, which resulted in a loss to the bank of over $6,900, until the account was frozen.
Nassau County
-Five women were arrested on April 19 for prostitution in three locations in Nassau County. Police say that the defendants all advertised on Web sites and offered sex for cash to undercover officers. The women were Amy Saeliow, 20, of Oakland, Calif., Christine Thary, 24, of Berkley, Calif., Ashley Taliercio, 18, of Hempstead, Valdecia Oliviera, 40, of Newark, N.J., and Mariana Campos, 20, of Newark, N.J.
North Hills
-Police officers observed Nicole Lee Marie McFadden, 28, of Centereach, driving westbound on April 23 on the Long Island Expressway with two minor children in the car. The officer observed the automobile swerving and unable to maintain the designated lane, and attempted for three exits to execute a vehicle and traffic stop. The defendant was arrested and charged with a DWI.
Roosevelt
-A 16-year-old male was standing with several friends in front of Williams Street on April 20 when a small dark four-door car drove toward the group. The victim reports hearing several gunshots and, while running from the scene, realized he had been shot once in the buttocks.
Valley Stream
-Police are looking for three unknown male subjects who exited a black, four-door older model sedan at the corner of Arlington Avenue and Copiague Street on April 17 and approached a 16-year-old victim, demanding his property, including sneakers, backpack, a watch and a neck chain. The subjects then fled with the proceeds in the car westbound on Copiague Street. They are described as black males, all approximately 6 feet tall, 180 pounds and wearing bandannas over their faces.
