Albertson
-A white male subject, 35 to 40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a white hooded “Penn State” sweatshirt, blue baseball cap and jeans entered the North Fork Bank located at Willis Ave. on April 16. He presented a note demanding money from a teller and after obtaining an unknown amount of money, fled on foot out the side door running north through the rear parking lot.
Baldwin
-Wille Ballantyne, 24, of Roosevelt was arrested and charged on April 15 with robbing a 34-year-old Freeport woman at gunpoint behind Baldwin Billiards. The victim was injured slightly, but did not require medical attention. A police notification was broadcast describing a 2003 GMC that the defendant fled in as a passenger. The vehicle was stopped by Freeport police officers.
Elmont
-Seven black male subjects approached a male victim, 20, in the south parking lot of Belmont Race Track on April 14. The subjects punched and kicked the victim before stealing his wallet, which contained an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, identification papers and a credit card, from his pants pocket. Police officers responded and found the victim lying on the ground.
-Two male subjects entered the Duane Reade on Hempstead Turnpike on April 17 and as they approached the female victim, 37, they simulated having handguns and forced her into the office demanding she open the store safe. Unable to do so, the second subject pushed the male victim, 50, into the office and demanded he open the safe. Both subjects fled on foot through the rear emergency door. The first subject is described as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 275 pounds, wearing green pants with a white stripe similar to a sanitation workers uniform. The second subject is described as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 220 pounds, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask.
-Kai L. Sheppard, 26, of Queens Village sold cocaine from her vehicle to an undercover detective in the parking lot of Wendy’s on April 12. The defendant’s 3-year-old son was in the rear seat of the auto at the time.
Hempstead
-Jabori Gibson, 16, approached a taxi cab driver, male victim, 44, parked in front of West Graham Street on April 15. He produced a silver single shot handgun, pointed it at the victim and demanded money. The victim drove away without giving any proceeds and notified his dispatcher, who notified police.
Massapequa
-A black male subject, 5 feet 11 inches tall, confronted a female victim, 39, as she was putting her 7-year-old son in the back seat of her vehicle in the Toys R Us parking lot on Sunrise Highway on April 14. The subject grabbed the victim’s purse and a struggle ensued during which time the subject punched the victim in the face and fled on foot toward the rear of the shopping center with the victim’s purse and the items she had just purchased.
Massapequa Park
-A seventh precinct police officer conducted a vehicle stop at Stuart Lane and Park Lane on April 12, when he observed in plain view, three clear plastic bags of a substance believed to be cocaine and a digital scale in the center console. Michael Mitchell, 16, indicated that he was in possession of the above items and was arrested.
Merrick
-On his way to work on April 16, a Preston Lane homeowner discovered the body of a male lying in his driveway. The body was next to the open car door of the homeowner’s motor vehicle. The deceased has been identified as James Tunney, 32.
Mineola
-A black female subject, 5 feet 4 inches, early 20’s, thin build, dark complexion, wearing a black hooded jacket with fur around the hood, entered Citibank on April 12 and presented the teller with a demand note that indicated she had a weapon. The teller complied and handed the subject an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The subject exited the bank through a side door.
North Long Beach
-Two male black subjects confronted a male victim, 19, outside a residence on Broadway on April 11. One of the subjects produced a knife and demanded the victim’s gold chain with crucifix, jacket and DVD’s. The victim complied and fled the scene on foot.
Roosevelt
-First precinct police officers observed Eric Jarrett, 42, and James Huston, 49, in possession of a substance believed to be crack/cocaine while conducting a vehicle traffic stop on April 12. The two men were arrested.
Valley Stream
-During an agreed upon sale of a drum machine-midi production center in front of Fir Street on April 15, Irving Batiz, 24, produced a black handgun and pointed it at the owner of the equipment, male victim, 24, and stole the equipment.
