Was the meeting at 4 or 5 p.m.? Did they say it was in the small club office or was it changed to the multi-purpose room?
Whether you are a club leader or a CEO of a Fortune 500 company, a new service is now available to improve communication among colleagues and friends-and it’s free.
General Technologies LLC has brought us YapLink, a free broadcast messaging service. A company or organization’s leader signs up on the Web site and can broadcast a message at the click of a button. What makes this service unique is it forwards the message to any medium. Regardless of one’s cell phone service provider, the type of wireless Internet connection or whether a Sidekick or Blackberry are used. The message can be sent to any and all of your communication devices.
Dan Wang, a principle at General Technologies, is excited about this new and very special product. “Pagers, Blackberry, Wi-Fi; the idea is completely independent of type and service,” Wang said.
General Technologies consists of employees from all different “extensive Fortune 500 companies and experiences,” Wang said. The company’s goal is to utilize the Internet to provide all different services of convenience to consumers in the business world.
Many cell phone providers, such as Alltel, are offering free text messages to any provider; however, they will only send the message to another cell phone. YapLink includes all forms of communication devices in its capabilities.
The product is available free of the never-ending spam, as well. There is no “spam only appendages at the end of the message,” Wang explained. The user is not inundated with advertisements and can get right to the point of the message. A message is sent free of charges and spam.
“I am so excited to bring this product back to my organization,” Amy Drinkwater, a junior at the University. “We are always changing days and times for meetings within the organization and for a student group with very little money; this solves all of our problems.”
The head of a company can register so they know who they are inviting and make sure the list is kept private. Names and contacts are not released and are only available to the manager of the account. The confidentiality makes YapLink appealing to large-scale corporations as well.
Look for new General Technologies products, such as StreetYap, which will be available soon. StreetYap is an online ratings site available to anyone and everyone to rate just about everything.
“With so much information, people just want a general feeling about the products they are consuming,” Wang said.
The Yaplink mission statement proves their dedication: “Since we put the needs of our users first, we have found that offering a high-quality user experience leads to increased traffic and strong word-of-mouth promotion.”
