James Madison (22-2, 13-0): James Madison’s blowout victory over lowly Northeastern, thanks in part to a 23-point performance by Tamera Young, was proof that they are still at the top of the CAA food chain. The Dukes look to preserve their perfect record this week against George Mason and Northeastern.
Old Dominion (15-8, 11-1): The Lady Monarchs, led by Sherida Triggs, moved up a spot in the standings with a win over Northeastern and a huge victory over Delaware. If ODU wants any shot at catching James Madison, they will need to win out, starting with Towson, and hope JMU slips up.
Delaware (20-4, 11-2): The Blue Hens lost a step with a defeat at the hands of Old Dominion, despite a strong performance by Tyresa Smith. Delaware is will hope to get back on track when UNC-Wilmington comes to town on Thursday.
Hofstra (18-6, 8-5): Lana Harshaw led the charge for the Pride with 17 points as Hofstra beat George Mason. The Pride will return home on Thursday for a game with a hapless Drexel squad that has only one win in conference play, followed by a trip to Georgia State for a key conference match-up.
Towson (16-7, 7-6): The Tigers managed to survive a scare against Drexel, but then fell to Georgia State. It will not get easier for the Lady Panthers with Old Dominion and Delaware coming up.
Georgia State (15-9, 7-6): The Lady Panthers won a close game over UNC-Wilmington before manhandling Towson, 89-43. Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen was a one-woman wrecking crew of the game, shooting 10-19 en route to 31 points in the victory. The Lady Panthers will look forward to a trip to Boston for a match with a weak Northeastern team before returning home to face Hofstra.
William & Mary (15-9, 7-6): William & Mary easily beat UNC-Wilmington thanks in part to a superb performance by junior Devin James. The Tribe will head to VCU to face the Lady Rams before a big battle with second place Old Dominion.
VCU (12-11, 5-8): After losing soundly to nationally-ranked James Madison, the Lady Rams got out of Philadelphia alive with a victory over last-place Drexel. VCU will look to break free from their inconsistency starting with William & Mary this week.
UNC-Wilmington (7-16, 3-9): The loss to Drexel may still be on the mind of UNCW as evidenced by their back to back losses at the hands of Georgia State and William & Mary. Things will not get any easier for the Seahawks as Delaware comes to town this week.
George Mason (8-15, 2-11): Tracy Ann Holness’ 16 points were not enough for George Mason as they suffered a loss to Hofstra. The Patriots will next kick off a road trip with nationally ranked James Madison and conference powerhouse Old Dominion.
Northeastern (3-21, 2-11): Northeastern suffered two expected losses to James Madison and Old Dominion, despite an impressive week for Lucia Pablos, (who scored 20 points against the Dukes). Northeastern will look to play spoiler this week as they face conference leader James Madison.
Drexel (6-18, 1-12): Drexel managed to keep it close this week, but still suffered losses against Towson and VCU. Next, the Lady Dragons will travel to Hofstra and UNC Wilmington, looking to salvage anything from a disappointing season.
James Madison (19-2, 11-0): Nationally ranked at No. 25 on the AP poll, the Dukes keep rolling through the competition as they remain undefeated in conference play, thanks to stellar performances by Lesley Dickinson and Meredith Alexis. After dispatching rivals Old Dominion and William & Mary, they face an out-of-conference match-up with Longwood before a date with VCU.
Delaware (19-3, 10-1): The Blue Hens have been dominant in their last two games against Georgia State and VCU, with senior guard Tyresa Smith leading the charge. The Blue Hens will face George Mason and third-place Old Dominion this week.
Old Dominion (13-8, 9-1): The Lady Monarchs rebounded from a tough loss to top-ranked James Madison to cruise to a convincing victory at Hofstra, thanks to a stellar performance by T.J. Jordan. ODU will face a lowly Northeastern team in the coming week.
Hofstra (16-6, 6-5): Despite a strong performance by Lana Harshaw and leadership by Vanessa Gidden, the Pride came up short against Old Dominion after defeating Northeastern, proof of their inconsistency against higher-ranked teams in the conference. Hofstra will take on William & Mary this week.
Towson (15-6, 6-5): The Tigers avenged their defeat to Georgia State with a win over lowly Northeastern. Shanae Baker-Brice and company will conclude their home-stand with a match-up against another conference bottom-feeder in Drexel.
William & Mary (14-8, 6-5): The Tribe defeated Drexel but lost to top-ranked James Madison. Led by scoring leader Kyra Kaylor, they will kick-off a three-game road trip by heading into Hempstead to take on Hofstra.
Georgia State (13-9, 5-6): Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen has been a bright spot for this otherwise mediocre Lady Panthers squad, who recently gained a victory against Towson but fell to Delaware. The Lady Panthers are preparing for their upcoming match-up with UNC-Wilmington.
VCU (11-10, 4-7): The Lady Rams rebounded from a beating administered by Delaware by winning a nail-biter against George Mason. Quanitra Hollingsworth has been a defensive force for VCU while Krystal Vaughn leads the way in the scoring department. They will have their hands full when they go up against top-ranked James Madison on the road.
UNC-Wilmington (7-14, 3-7): After a close win over George Mason, they ended up committing an ignoble act by being lackluster Drexel’s first conference victory this season. Nevertheless, scoring leader Lori Drake and her fellow Seahawks will have to get that bad aftertaste out of their collective mouths as they go up against Georgia State.
