Yes they are 5-1 and yes they are being called one of the top 5 teams in the NFL, but this is now the time of judgment for the Defending World Champions. The Giants have struggled the last few weeks, especially in there horrible loss to the Browns and there win against the 49ers. Both games, the Giants saw their own share of struggles including accumulating 10+ penalties for the first time in over a year against San Francisco and, well, their first loss since the last game of last season against the Patriots. The Giants have seen their struggles, but they seem to know that this is the biggest part of their season coming up. All together the last 10 teams the Giants will play have a 39-26 overall record and the teams the giants played in their first 6 games were a combined 12-27 record. Games like the Giants walloping of the Seattle Seahawks and there big wins over the Rams, and Redskins and there Overtime win over the winless Bengals all have given the Giants the 2nd best record in the NFL tied with the same Steelers team that they will play Sunday afternoon. It was Giants Defensive end Justin Tuck who put it best “You know, to be the best you’ve got to beat the best. Obviously we’re going to have an opportunity to do that”. The Giants have to play more than half their games on the road for the rest of the season as well as 5 of their next 7 games, all against division foes. The team with the worst record happens to be a team the Giants have struggled against in the 3-4 Minnesota Vikings who will play the giants on the final game of the regular season. This Giant team knows they need to improve, especially at certain areas including the secondary, to really shine over these next few weeks as well as get lots of pressure on quarterbacks like Ben Roethlisberger, Donovan McNabb, possibly Tony Romo and Jake Delhomme. In any case, the rest of this season isn’t going to be easy and it’s going prove to everyone whether or not the New York Giants can repeat what they did last season or whether or not they have some more to do before going back to the big game.
