When Iraq veteran Chris Goldsmith, 23, returned to the U.S., he came back with a changed perspective on the world. At age 16, the day after he saw the World Trade Center attack, Goldsmith’s philosophy was “blow ’em up”-but after a near-death experience as a solider, Goldsmith is now thankful to be alive.This story was part of the “Iraq Veterans Speak About Their War” in the Plaza Room East, part of the University’s Day of Dialogue. He debated with Bill Barna (right), an ROTC student, about their experiences overseas.
