Madonna fans do not have to wait any longer to get a taste of “Hard Candy,” the singer’s latest album. “Hard Candy” gives listeners an eclectic mix of songs including her trademarked pop Madonna classics. There is a bit of a mixture between sweet and sour on this album: some tracks are upbeat and fun and some are raunchier than one would think.
Madonna has collaborated with Pharrell, Justin Timberlake and many more on this record that dropped April 19 in stores everywhere. If you haven’t gotten a chance to listen to it yet, the ever-so-popular “4 Minutes” single has Madonna teaming up with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.
The song has hit No. 1 on the charts already. Despite rocky reviews about “Hard Candy,” it has the recipe for a colossal hit. What is a Madonna CD without the synthesized vocals and catchy melodic tunes anyways?
You may be in for a surprise with what the album has in store for you; however the seductive cover of the album will help you figure it out a little bit better. Some songs on the album are a bit sexier and edgier than Madonna has put out in the past; irrefutably, Madonna can do wrong, controversy-wise.
She is known for raising eyebrows, and this album also entails fresh, hip-hop beats, which one may not have been expecting from Madonna. The songs on the album are extremely fun and high energy. A couple songs minutely resemble her ’80s hits and some songs such as “Heartbeat” even have an ’80s vibe added to the mix. There aren’t any ballads on the CD, which gives the album a less emotional tone. It is not that long an album, the CD in its entirety is comprised of 12 songs, which makes each song easy to remember, and not long and drawn out to get to the end of.
“Hard Candy” appropriately assimilates itself with a fun, feel-good vibe. What’s so great about “Hard Candy” is most of the songs on the album are perhaps old school, which sparks pleasant memories in fans’ heads, and brings them back to the time and place when Madonna was queen of the pop world.
It’s safe to say Madonna has not lost her touch, and the album is a surefire way to evoke high energy and a fun time.
