“All this stuff you’ve heard about America not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of the war, is a lot of horse dung. Americans traditionally love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That’s why Americans have never lost, and will never lose a war… because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.” -Patton (1970)
Be honest, you love to win. You love to know that you’re fighting a battle that will bring you great rewards. We play this game of love because we know that on the other side is a greatness that I’m not even going to pretend to explain. Whether we’re single searching for love or have been married for years trying to stay in love, the battle is always being fought. We’re always going to struggle to understand each other, but it will just make victory sweeter when we reap the rewards. We’ll be strong, heartache to heartache.
