Early this week, the University altered the layout and look of its home page (below). The most noticeable additions included a vibrant blue heading sporting the University logo, a sidebar on the left with green tabs directing students to the most-frequented sections of the site, and a more visible search field. “It definitely looks more professionally done than the other version,” said junior psychology and speech communications major Julia Matias. “The only thing I really use is the portal, and they haven’t changed that much.” At first glance, none of the features of the Web site were altered; only the design has changed, making it more visually accessible but boasting few changes in ease of usage.

University students (above) make their way to classes Tuesday despite the dreary weather. Snowfall and rain coupled with strong winds made for treacherous sidewalks and parking lots throughout the afternoon. Regardless of the weather, the CANN system did not go into effect, as classes were not canceled. Had the weather been worse, students may have been able to enjoy an extra day off in addition to the upcoming four-day weekend in honor of President’s day.
