While I appreciate Mr. Berry confessing to his crimes, I feel that his allegation that the situation has been ‘blown out of proportion’ is ridiculous. Mr. Berry needs to realize that a great many people care that a former vice president of the SGA vandalized personal property, and it is a story worthy of any attention the Chronicle or anyone else may give it.
Secondly, I find it interesting that Mr. berry now claims he taken “responsibility for his actions” and always has, yet in last week’s Chronicle, he denied that he had taken any action at all.
Furthermore, in last week’s Chronicle, he claimed he had spoken to no administrators and yet now claims that he has. I think Mr. Berry needs to realize as a student leader and as a public figure on this campus, transparency and honesty, or a lack thereof, mean a lot.
Finally, I would like to say that I have made no secret about what was done to me by certain individuals, including Berry, and I will not go silent now. Students have a right to know what people who are trying to lead them are truly like behind closed doors.
These actions were disgusting and infuriating, and I look forward to the resolution of this entire situation when those responsible, be they part of the Weitzberg/Berry ticket or not, are punished for their crimes.
Sincerely,
Pete
