How would you describe your collection?
My art collection is abstract and very colorful, including acrylic paint on canvas, sculptures and some collage-type pieces.
What are your inspirations?
I use my art to express how I feel the world should be and could be. I am an activist for social change and strongly believe that one person can make a difference. I use my artwork to reinforce what I fight so hard for others to understand. My art exhibit this semester is titled Dream Endlessly because I believe that if we dream above and beyond our aspirations, then anything is possible.
What other activities are you involved in?
I am involved in many activities on and off campus which include volunteer work, tutoring children and adolescents and educating adults. I am part of the Genocide fellowship program, a falicatator at The Holocaust and Tolerance Center of Nassau County and a member of the NOAH Program.
What do you hope to do after graduation? Will art continue to be a big part of your life?
I hope to continue to educate my peers, children, adolescents and adults about social issues and bias of today and the past. Art will always be a big part of life because it helps me express myself in a unique and beautiful way.
Is there anything you would like to add?
I would like to also add that the student gallery is a chance for students to express themselves in any artistic way that they see possible. After I graduate, I hope more students take the opportunity and display their work.
