A PSO found a student sitting on the steps of Estabrook smoking a marijuana cigarette on Sep. 8. The PSO took the cigarette and the student was issued an appearance summons.
A man pulled down his pants and exposed his butt to two girls sitting on a bench on the south side of Memorial Hall on Sep. 8. The students later reported the incident to Public Safety who responded and did a search of the area with negative results. The Hempstead Police Department was notified and a report was taken. Both girls were offered counseling, but they declined. An investigation is currently being conducted.
Public Safety received a report from an RA about the odor of marijuana coming from a room in Rotterdame on Sep. 9. Public Safety responded, keyed into the room, and found it empty, but a homemade bong containing marijuana residue was in plain view. The resident of the room was issued an appearance summons.
A PSO on patrol Sept. 9 observed that seven rooms on the sixth floor in Nassau Hall had graffiti written on them. A search was conducted with no results. Plant services cleaned up the vulgarity.
A man was observed jumping over the fence by a PSO assigned to the Oak St security booth on Sep 10. The PSO apprehended the man and identified him as Brandon Horrocks, a non-student banned from campus.
Two men were found lying in the street at Hempstead Turnpike and California Avenue by Public Safety on Sep. 10. The men, neither of which were students, reported that they were struck by a vehicle which then left the scene. Both men suffered leg injuries and were taken to NUMC where they were treated. NCPD and Hempstead Police responded and, after a lengthy investigation, the vehicle and driver were located and an accident report was prepared.
An RA in Nassau Hall observed a guest of a student vandalize the bulletin board and room signs on the third floor on Sep 10. Public Safety responded to the report and apprehended the guest who was identified as Andrew Continisio of 5 Glory Rd in Marmora, NJ. He was taken to the HIC and banned from campus. The Hofstra Student was giving an appearance summons for actions of guests.
An RA doing rounds discovered a large party involving underage students drinking in a room in Portsmouth house on Sep. 11. Public Safety responded and issued an appearance summons to the resident of the room and issued an appearance summons to one other student for failure to sign into the residence hall.
Three students smoking in front of Rotterdam on Sep. 11 were reported by an RA to Public Safety. A glass pipe was recovered and the students were issued an appearance summons for their actions.
A black jeep with a North Carolina license plate was observed driving and harassing a student by a PSO on patrol on Sep. 12. The people in the jeep were identified as Malik Black, of Concord North Carol, Carl Delaney and Jordan Delaney, both of Central Islip. All three were brought to the HIC and banned.
A student in Nassau Hall put his clothes in the washing machine on Sep. 13. When he returned his clothes were missing. A search was conducted, but his clothes were not found.
Lackmann reported several products missing from behind Breslin on Sep. 13.
