The Pride Softball swept conference rival George Mason in a three game series to remain at the top of its game.
The first game of a double header on Friday, April 2, saw the best moments of the series as freshman star Olivia Galati tossed a five-inning perfect game. Galati struck out 12 of the 15 batters she faced as the offense provided the power and the run support that the CAA Pitcher of the Week needed. Freshman right fielder Tessa Ziemba went 2- 3 with two RBI’s and junior third baseman Sarah Michalowski went 1-3 with three RBI’s.
The pitching domination did not stop with Galati. Later in the day, sophomore Erin Wade pitched a complete game one hitter. Like Galati, E-Wade got the run support she needed including a 2-3 performance with 3 RBI’s from Ziemba.
The next day, it was back to business for Galati as she took the mound. This time though, the run support was not there. But that did not phase the freshman sensation. A two-hit complete game shut out kept the Pride in the game. Hofstra received some dramatics from Michalowski, who delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth, giving Hofstra the victory and Galati her thirteenth victory.
