Rick Schwartz of Staten Island, was discovered by a PSO living in a room in Hempstead House on March 31. Schwartz was taken to the HIC and banned from campus; the resident of the room was given a summons.
A note that said, “April Fools 2010” was found in a lunch box at the bus stop near the New Academic Building. A bus driver reported the lunch box to Public Safety as a suspicious package.
A Public Safety Officer observed a black Audi hit a blue Jaguar while on duty on Hempstead Turnpike. The car proceeded to crash into three sections of the fence surrounding the Netherlands. The Audi left the scene without stopping, tje Nassau County Police Department was notified and an investigation is being conducted.
A pair of Logitech brand attachable speakers were stolen from the lounge of Delft House on April 4. The student said that he left the lounge at 2:30 p.m. on April 3 and when he returned three hours later they were gone.
Four youths were observed by a Public Safety Officer pushing a University cart on the west side of campus. The four youths were apprehended and taken to the Hofstra Information Center, and Nassau County Police Department was notified.
A male and female were reported to be seen fighting outside of Constitution Hall on April 6. When a Public Safety Officer responded, the pair was discovered sitting in a car. When questioned, the female student admitted that there was a verbal altercation, but nothing physical. When the male was questioned he became verbally abusive towards the Public Safety Officer and he received a summons.
A flat screen T.V. was found smashed in the Alliance Hall lounge on April 6 by a Public Safety Officer. An investigation is being conducted.
