A deer carcass was found on the hood of a vehicle parked in the Nassau/Suffolk Parking Lot on March 3. A staff member, who saw the carcass in the morning, notified Public Safety. The student owner of the vehicle was contacted and questioned by Public Safety. The student stated that he was not aware of the carcass on his vehicle and did not know who would put it there. The Plant Department removed the deer from the vehicle.
On March 3, A student was given a summons after a staff member called Public Safety into Hammer Lab. The student was reported to be acting disorderly.
A glass jar containing marijuana was confiscated by Public Safety and turned over to Nassau County Police Department on March 4. Public Safety responded to a report stating that a student in New Complex Residence Hall had sold marijuana to another student. The student was questioned and given a summons.
On March 5, while on patrol, Public Safety observed several students engaged in an altercation on Hempstead turnpike outside of the Saltzman Center. The three students involved in the fight were taken to the Hofstra Information Center. Two of the students received summons and the other was taken to the Nassau University Medical Center where he was treated for an injury to his left eye.
While having a conversation with a Professor during class, a student became agitated and threw a book on the floor on March 4. The student received a summons.
A Resident Safety Representative reported to Public Safety that four people entered into Colonial Square East without signing into a room. Public Safety was able to locate the individuals, and found that they were in possession of a six-pack of beer. The alcohol was confiscated and non-students Elizabeth Essary, Jillian Labruzzo, and Nicholas Summer were banned from campus.
A Public Safety officer responded to the men’s bathroom in the Netherlands Core on March 8, after a report was filed stating that a swastika and a derogatory statement was carved into the bathroom stall. The person responsible was not found and the Plant Department repaired the wall.
A male student was issued a summons after he was caught looking under the bathroom stall at a student in the adjacent stall in the Axinn Library on March 8.
A MacBook, valued at $800, was reported stolen on March 9. The student stated that it was taken from her room in New Complex Residence Hall sometime between 9:30 p.m. and 1 a.m. on March 8. An investigation is being conducted.
A student reported that his Sony video camera, valued at $4,000, was stolen from his room in New Complex Residence Hall between 1 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. on March 9. An investigation is being conducted.
