On Feb. 16 a student stated that while working out in the Fitness Center, he left his Motorola cell phone in an unsecured locker. When he returned, he found that his cell phone was missing. Police assistance was declined.
On Feb. 17 Public Safety received a notification that the odor of marijuana was emanating from a room in Nassau Hall. Public Safety responded to the location, unlocked the door and found a strong odor of marijuana inside, but none was recovered. The resident of the room was issued a summons for smoking marijuana.
On Feb. 18 a student stated that when she returned to her vehicle which was parked in the Estabrook parking lot, she discovered that the driver’s side front tire had been slashed. The NCPD was notified, and a police officer responded and prepared a complaint report for vandalism.
On Feb. 18 an RA reported to Public Safety that while doing rounds in Vander Poel Hall, he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from one of the rooms. Public Safety responded, keyed into the room along with the RA and found it occupied with three students. Two marijuana grinders and a bong were recovered and the three students were issued appearance summonses.
On Feb. 19 a Public Safety Officer who was patrolling East Campus discovered that the windshield and roof of a vehicle parked near Margiotta Hall were dented. NCPD was notified, and a Police Officer responded and prepared a complaint report for vandalism.
On Feb. 20, an RA reported to Public Safety that while doing rounds in Utrecht House, he smelled marijuana coming from one of the rooms. Public Safety responded, keyed into the room along with the RA and found it occupied with four Hofstra students and one non-student. When questioned, they admitted to smoking marijuana in the room. A bong and several bottles of alcoholic beverages were recovered. The Hofstra students were issued appearance summonses and the non-student was banned from campus.
On Feb. 21 an RA reported to Public Safety that while doing rounds in Amsterdam House, he smelled the odor or marijuana coming from one of the rooms. Public safety responded, unlocked the door and found two students inside. The room had a strong odor of marijuana but no marijuana was recovered. Both students were issued appearance summonses.
On Feb. 22 a student reported that sometime between Feb. 17 and Feb. 21 he left his bicycle unattended near Dempster Hall. When he returned five days later, he discovered his bicycle was missing. Police assistance was declined.
