Atlantic 10 North
1. University of New Hampshire: 8-1 (6-1)
New Hampshire defeated the Pride last week in a 29-26 nail biter. The Pride stuck with the favored Wildcats all afternoon, but fell short when New Hampshire quarterback Ricky Santos threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Brown with 6:50 left and Kareem Huggins fumbled in the end zone.
2. University of Massachusetts: 7-2 (6-1)
Liam Coen threw for 318 yards on 21 of 26 passing in a 35-7 win over Delaware last Saturday. The Minutemen were in control the entire game, taking a 28-0 lead before Delaware got on the board. UMass will play Army this Saturday with first place still within reach.
3. University of Rhode Island: 4-5 (2-4)
Coming off of a bye week, Rhode Island gets ready to play Maine this Saturday. URI is led by quarterback Jayson Davis, who has scored 16 touchdowns this season-11 of which have come on the ground.
3. University of Maine: 4-5 (2-4)
Fourteen points in the first quarter was all Maine needed to overtake Northeastern, 14-10. Maine scored on its first two possessions of the game.
4. Northeastern University: 1-8 (1-5)
With a 14-10 loss to Maine last week, Northeastern is now riding a five-game losing streak. For the second consecutive week, the Huskies have lost by less than a touchdown, and will take on the Pride next week
Atlantic 10 South
1. University of Richmond: 6-3 (5-1)
Richmond pounded VMI last week 38-3, and has now clinched at least a share of the A-10 South title. The Spiders out-gained VMI, 568-113, overpowering the Keydets on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Stacy Tutt threw three touchdowns and ran for over 100 yards. Timothy Hightower also helped with 103 rushing yards and two scores.
2. Towson University: 6-3 (3-3)
Coming off of a 44-13 beating from William & Mary on Oct. 22, Towson responded with a 40-19 victory over Villanova on Saturday. The Tigers played solid offense and forced four turnovers on defense. Towson now gets set to take on first place Richmond in a must-win game for the Tigers.
3. College of William & Mary: 5-4 (3-3)
James Madison kicker Paul Wantuck kicked a 44-yard field goal with three seconds remaining to beat William & Mary last week. The 30-29 last-second loss dropped the Tribe to third in the division. The Tribe looks to rebound next week versus Delaware.
4. James Madison University: 5-4 (3-3)
A 30-29 win last week over William & Mary helped the Dukes draw even with the Tribe for a third place tie in the A-10 South. The Dukes scored all of their touchdowns on the ground and won the game on a 44-yard field goal with three seconds remaining. JMU now heads to Villanova on Saturday.
5. Villanova University: 4-5 (2-4)
Quarterbacks Frank Jankowski and Antwon Young hit eight different receivers for a combined 284 yards and one touchdown. However, the Wildcats turned the ball over four times and lost to Towson, 40-19. Villanova will travel to play James Madison on Saturday.
6. University of Delaware: 4-5 (1-5)
A 35-7 loss to UMass last week places Delaware last in the Atlantic 10 South. Quarterback Sonny Riccio threw for only 95 yards and three interceptions. The Blue Hens look to hold onto the ball when they head to William & Mary on Saturday.
