A fire alarm was activated in Portsmouth House on Oct. 4. After investigation, it was discovered that a smoke detector and emergency exit sign were vandalized.
Non-student Lisa Zaltz, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was banned from campus on Oct. 5. She was found in the lobby of Hammer lab stating she was trying to file a harassment complaint and was arrogant and abusive to public safety officers. Police responded to deal with Zaltz.
The manager of Dutch Treats reported that two males stole merchandise on Oct. 5. public safety is continuing with the investigation.
The card swipe at the entrance of Norwich House was vandalized on Oct. 5.
Public safety officers found several uprooted and damaged trees on Oct. 5 while patrolling Colonial Square east.
University students were issued summonses on Oct. 5 when the Assistant Residential Director found num-chucks in the room during health and safety inspections.
University students were issued summonses on Oct. 5 for possession of drug paraphernalia in Nassau Hall.
A fire alarm was activated in Enterprise Hall on Oct. 6. After inspection, public safety discovered that the alarm was pulled for no reason.
A Univresity student in Tillberg House reported on Oct. 6 that her laptop was stolen sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 2 while she was away from campus. An investigation is in progress.
A University student reported on Oct. 6 receiving harassing phone calls of a person breathing heavily. The student’s phone number was changed.
A University student reported on Oct. 6 that when she returned to her room in Salem House, her door was unlocked and her Louis Vuitton purse and Playstation system were stolen.
A University student in Twin Oaks reported receiving harassing phone calls on Oct. 7. The caller told the student that he was calling from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office and that his parents had been killed. public safety is investigating the incident.
A University student reported on Oct. 7 that while he was parked in the parking lot near the baseball stadium, a baseball had broken his windshield.
Nine University students in Delft House were issued summonses for underage drinking on Oct. 8. Public safety confiscated the alcohol.
A Residential Director reported on Oct. 8 that she found keyed scratch marks on the driver’s side doors of her car while it was parked in the Alliance parking lot.
A Resident Assistant reported on Oct. 9 that an emergency phone on the 12th floor of Alliance was vandalized.
Three University students were issued summonses on Oct. 9 for entering Twin Oaks illegally.
The door leading to the basement computer labs of Netherlands Core was vandalized on Oct. 9. Public safety found pry-marks on the door; no property was missing. An investigation is in progress.
While on patrol, a Public safety officer found a fire smoldering in a trash can in Memorial Hall on Oct. 9. The fire was extinguished and the trash can was removed. In the trash, the officer found several candles.
A University student reported on Oct. 9 that he was assaulted by three unidentified males and had $100 stolen while walking up the stairs in Twin Oaks. The males fled the scene in an unknown direction. The student was treated at Nassau County Medical Center and filed a police report.
A University student in Twin Oaks was issued a summons on Oct. 10 for possession of a large glass pipe, which was confiscated.
Three University students in Gronnigen House were issued summonses on Oct. 10 for possession of alcohol, which was confiscated.
A University student in Alliance was issued a summons on Oct. 10 for possession of marijuana, which was confiscated.n Three University students in Gronnigen House were issued summonses on Oct. 10 for smoking marijuana.
A University student in Twin Oaks received a summons on Oct. 12 for smoking marijuana, which was confiscated.
A University student reported on Oct. 12 that she was woken up by four males who were attempting to break into her room through an open window in Orange House. Non-students Richard Porto, 26, of Baldwin, N.Y., Andrew Alloro, 25, Valley Stream, N.Y., George Byrd, 25, of Baldwin and Michael Ranolde, 24, also of Baldwin were banned from campus.
