The Hofstra Pride men’s golf team started out strong on the opening day of the La Salle-Finnegan Invitational in Elverson, Pennsylvania on Sunday finishing fourth in the twelve-team field. They then continued that success into the final round on Monday, finishing runner up for the second time this season.
Senior Brandon Shin led the way for the Pride in the first round finishing even, good enough for a tie at third place thanks to four birdies in the opening round. Although Shin finished the final round one over par, it was still good enough to finish runner up. For his outstanding play, Shin was awarded with the CAA Player of the Week honors.
Hofstra improved on the first round team score of 296, sixteen over par, by completing the final round with a score of 286, six over par, totaling a team score of 582 for the tournament. That score was good enough for second place behind Lafayette who finished the invitational with an impressive score of 570, ten over par.
