The Hofstra women’s golf team competed in the 2015 Colonial Athletic Association tournament last weekend and the Pride finished last, eighth place out of eight teams, in all three rounds at the St. James South Plantation golf communities in Southport, North Carolina.
The tournament was split into three different rounds and the first round began on Friday, the second on Saturday then the third and final round on Sunday. Hofstra did not break out of last place on any given day.
College of Charleston won the tournament compiling a team score of 881 strokes, Elon came in second place compiling 899 and Delaware finished in third with a team score totaling 900.
Hofstra finished with an overall team score of 1013 as the only team that allowed that shot over a 1,000 amongst the rest of their conference opponents.
In the individual rankings, Delaware’s Andrea Slane won the CAA title with an overall individual score of 209. College of Charleston’s Laura Fuenfstueck and Elon’s Heather Munro each finished with scores of 217.
Sophomore Victoria Snak led the Pride, placing 34th overall throughout all three days of the tournament.
Sophomore Andrea Neilson placed right behind Snak at 35th overall in her performance at the tourney.
Freshman Amanda Bigger placed 37th overall in her first CAA tournament appearance of her colligate career.
Sophomores Jai Ghuman and Jacquie Faldetta placed 38th and 39th respectively out of 40 possible slots in the CAA tournament.
Hofstra’s best day as a team was during round two on Saturday with the team’s score at 333 strokes, despite still coming in last place for the second time.
Followed by the first round on Friday, compiling a team score of 335 and lastly was the final round on Sunday with a team score totaling 345 strokes. No other team dipped under 325 throughout the entire tournament.
