The University has cancelled classes after 4:30 due to continuous blowing winds and snow, University authorities said Tuesday.
The storm began forming throughout much of early Tuesday afternoon and 2 to 4 inches is expected to accumulate in Suffolk and Nassau counties, the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s, a far cry from the 45 degree weather throughout Monday.
Winds will reach up to 50 mph tonight, and authorities are urging caution.
According to the National Weather Service, the snow will taper off late tonight.
