Do you want to order food from Kate and Willy’s and not have to stand around waiting for it? Now you don’t have to. You can call and place your order, then pick it up within a half hour.
“This service is for the students so they don’t have to stand around and wait,” Troy Hernandez, manager of Kate and Willy’s, said. “The more students who know about it the better it will be.”
The phone service was implemented last Wednesday by Lackmann and is slowly becoming popular. For now, not too many students know about it unless they happen to catch a glimpse of one of the signs at Kate and Willy’s or friends tell them about it.
“I just found out about it from reading the sign,” Amanda Gumpert, sophomore biology major, said. “I would definitely consider trying it out.”
Hernandez believes the service will pick up more steam as time goes along. Incoming calls for orders so far have been increasing as students learn about and begin to take advantage of this offer.
“It has been progressively frequent,” Hernandez said of the students’ use of the service.
Students like Julie Goscinski and Danielle Swasey think this new feature will be a great thing for students on campus. It would make things much easier for students and it would be a good way to beat the crowds.
“One time it took me over an hour to get my food there,” Swasey said. “The wait is absolutely ridiculous.”
The one thing that worries students about this phone service, however, is the idea of having to give their 700 numbers over the phone. They question the validity of doing so and wonder how much is actually taken off their card once to they identify themselves.
“It’s kind of sketchy that they ask for your card number,” Desi Issacs, a psychology major, said.
