Griffin Turner of the Hofstra University mens lacrosse team announced he is transferring to Ohio State University on Thursday, June 27.
The southern California native reached career highs with 16 goals, 28 assists and 44 points this season as a junior. Starting in all 15 games, Turners strong season landed him on the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) First Team.
Turner made Hempstead his home for three years after transferring from Texas Christian Universitys club team in 2021. Throughout his Hofstra career, Turner improved tremendously from season to season in almost every statistic.
Hofstra head coach Seth Tierney referred to Turner as the motor of the team on multiple occasions in 2024. Turners consistent production was timely for the Pride, scoring multiple points in 13 of 15 games.
Turner exits Hofstra on an unprecedented 24-game point streak since April 30, 2022. With Turners transfer, the Pride must replace all their starting attackers and one starting midfielder in 2025.
Turner joins the Buckeyes who went 1-4 in Big Ten conference play in 2024.
