1. Arizona Cardinals (Previous Rank: 4)
The Colt McCoy show continued this past Sunday as QB Kyler Murray missed his third-straight game. This outing McCoy was outstanding, finishing the game with 346 total yards and two TDs. The Cardinals hold the best record in the NFL and are trending towards getting their stars back from the injured list soon. This week they are headed into their bye with a lot to look forward to.
2. Green Bay Packers (Previous Rank: 1)
The Packers lost a close one (34-31) against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Their defense had no answer for WR Justin Jefferson as he absolutely burned their secondary. Even Aaron Rodgers 400+ yards and four TDs were not enough to get the job done. Up until this past week Green Bay’s defense has looked impeccable, they will look to get back to that level of play this week against a good Rams offense.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Previous Rank: 6)
The Bucs proved that their loss to Washington last week was nothing but a one game fluke as they came out and dominated the New York Giants on both ends of the ball. The defense looked much better than it had in previous weeks as they picked off QB Daniel Jones twice, and Tom Brady had the offense back up and rolling, throwing for over 300 yards and two TDs. The Bucs are holding on to a strong two game division lead and will look to advance that this week against the Colts.
4. Baltimore Ravens (Previous Rank: 7)
Even without star QB Lamar Jackson, and without half of their roster, the Ravens still found a way to win on Sunday. Since the start of the season the Ravens have found a way to win, dealing with more injuries than anyone in the league. This time it was Devonta Freeman stepping up totaling 80 yards and a TD. Jackson is trending towards being active this Sunday as they take on their division rival Browns on Sunday night.
5. Kansas City Chiefs (Previous Rank: 9)
The Chiefs defense has been much better as of late and the whole team is starting to hit their stride. The defense held a high-powered Cowboys offense to nine measly points, causing three turnovers in the process. Patrick Mahomes did not have a great game but the guys around him picked him up and were able to do enough to get a win. The Chiefs once again look like a dangerous opponent and are just getting started. They will be on bye this week as they look to keep improving on both ends of the game.
6. Tennessee Titans (Previous Rank: 2)
The Titans took a miserable loss this past Sunday, ending Houston’s eight-game losing streak. Two of three losses the Titans have endured this season have come against the Jets and now the Texans, games in which they should have won. This loss now makes things even closer in the AFC as the Titans had a shot to distance themselves from the others. Saying QB Ryan Tannehill was awful on Sunday is an understatement, the Titans QB threw for four interceptions, two crucial ones at the end of the game as well. The Titans need to rebound this week against the red-hot Patriots if they want to keep their top spot in the AFC.
7. Dallas Cowboys (Previous Rank: 5)
Just as the Cowboys were starting to look like a legit Super Bowl contender, they put up single digits against one of the worst ranked defenses in the league this season. QB Dak Prescott could not get anything going on offense as he threw for two interceptions and barely 200 yards. The defense was not bad, but with no offensive production there’s not much they could do. The Cowboys have the struggling Raiders at home on Thanksgiving, in what should be a nice bounce back win.
8. Los Angeles Rams (Previous Rank: 8)
The Rams are coming off their bye week sitting at 7-3, and after enduring a tough loss to San Francisco in week 10. After losing WR Robert Woods for the year due to a torn ACL, they are hoping newly acquired Odell Beckham Jr. can step in and produce as a WR2. The Rams defense has been inconsistent at times and if they want to go the distance in the playoffs they will have to play better on that side of the ball. They will have a very tough matchup coming off the bye with Green Bay in week 12.
9. New England Patriots (Previous Rank: 10)
The Patriots are simply the hottest team in football at the moment. Their decimation of the Falcons on Thursday night put the football world on notice that not only are they back but they might be good enough to make a deep playoff run even with a rookie quarterback. Mac Jones has been everything the Patriots hoped for and more as he is shown to not only be a leader but also a general on offense for this team. They took over the top spot in the AFC East as they will look to take the top spot in the whole AFC as they face the Titans this Sunday.
10. Buffalo Bills (Previous Rank: 3)
The Bills are one of the most inconsistent “powerhouses” we have ever seen in football history. This week the defense was torn apart and shredded by RB Jonathon Taylor, who ended with five total TDs. The offense was no better as they have absolutely no run game whatsoever. It all rests on QB Josh Allens shoulders which if he has an off game, the whole offense will. The Bills have now lost two of their last three and are now second in the AFC East. They will need to fix their blatant issues on both offense and defense otherwise they will continue to struggle. They are on the road against the Saints on Thanksgiving.
11. Los Angeles Chargers (Previous Rank: 11)
Justin Herbert was once again electric in a high scoring Sunday night game against the Steelers. The sophomore QB has really been everything Chargers fans have asked of him this season, he finished Sunday with 382 passing yards, 90 rushing yards, and three total TDs. The Chargers have been up and down this season, but regardless of that have looked like a strong playoff contender. They will face the Broncos on the road this Sunday.
12. Indianapolis Colts (Previous Rank: 13)
Jonathon Taylor has inserted himself into the MVP discussion and reinserted the Colts back into the playoff picture. His destruction of a strong Bills defense put everyone on notice that he should be considered one of the games best at the RB position. The Colts in whole look completely different from the start of the season as they have now won five of their last six. They will look t
o keep that going this week against the reigning Super Bowl champion Bucs.
13. Cincinnati Bengals (Previous Rank: 15)
The Bengals returned from their bye with a 32-13 blowout of the Raiders. The Bengals look like a true playoff contender as their offense looks to be one of the best in the league. RB Joe Mixon had himself a game this past Sunday as he ended with 30 carries for 123 yards and two TDs. The defense also played great causing two turnovers. They sit at 6-4 and have an important division matchup with the Steelers this Sunday.
14. Minnesota Vikings (Previous Rank: 17)
The Vikings once again play in another close matchup as this time they come out on top against their division enemy Packers. The Vikings have been a pest in everyone’s side this season, as every single one of their games have been decided by a score or two. This play has resulted in their 5-5 record and they are still in a good position to make a wildcard push. QB Kirk Cousins and the offense has been great so far this season, as they have carried the defenses inconsistent play. They will face another wild card contender in the Niners on Sunday.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (Previous Rank: 12)
The Steelers took a tough 41-37 loss to the Chargers this past Sunday. The offense looked significantly better in this one as they put up a season high 37 points. QB Ben Roethlisberger managed to turn back the clock, throwing for a very respectable 273 yards and three TDs. Unfortunately, the defense wasn’t as great as they were missing many of its playmakers including star LB T.J. Watt to injury. The Steelers are still in playoff contention in a wide open AFC, they will take on the Bengals on the road this Sunday.
16. Philadelphia Eagles (Previous Rank: 20)
The Eagles have been on fire so far this season, QB Jalen Hurts has put them on his back as everything seems to be working for them at the moment. Head coach Nick Sirianni has both the offense and defense playing at a high level as they are right back in contention for a wild card spot. Hurts finished Sunday with 216 total yards and three TDs. The Eagle’s next challenge will come against the Giants on Sunday.
17. San Francisco 49ers (Previous Rank: 18)
The Niners have been clicking as of late which has put them right back into playoff discussions. The offense has returned to its previous form as WR Deebo Samuel has had a tremendous year thus far. The defense has also been playing great as of late. They were able to force two turnovers this Sunday in a 30-10 win against the Jaguars. They are currently third in their division at 5-5, and are in a good position to go on a run and make the postseason. They will have an important matchup against the 5-5 Vikings this Sunday.
18. Cleveland Browns (Previous Rank: 16)
The Browns came away with the win this past Sunday but played terribly against a winless Lions team. QB Baker Mayfield struggled once again against a bad defense, as he proceeded to throw two more interceptions. The Browns 6-5 record does not reflect on their poor play as of late. On a more positive note RB Nick Chubb returned and put up 144 total yards and a touchdown. The Browns will have to play much better this week against the Ravens if they want to come away with a win.
19. New Orleans Saints (Previous Rank: 14)
The Saints are very inconsistent and showed that to us this past Sunday as they dropped their third-straight game. They have dealt with massive injury problems this season to key pieces as star RB Alvin Kamara missed his second straight game. Although the offense was not the problem in this one it was the defense who gave up 40 points to Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense. The Saints are currently among the group of NFC 5-5 teams looking to sneak their way into the playoffs, their defense will have to play better if they want to get there. They will take on the Bills at home on Thanksgiving.
20. Carolina Panthers (Previous Rank: 19)
The Panthers despite the loss look much better with Cam Newton under center. Cam rejuvenated and gave a boost that Panthers desperately needed on offense. The veteran quarterback ended with 235 total yards and three TDs. Unfortunately, the Panthers defense was unable to stop Washington’s offense which led to the loss. Although the Panthers are still in it at 5-6 and will look to improve that this week against the Dolphins.
21. Denver Broncos (Previous Rank: 21)
The Broncos are coming off their bye week at an even 5-5. They have been similar to other teams in the inconsistency aspect as they have games in which they have looked dominant and games where they look like a bottom five team. QB Teddy Bridgewater has been up and down but a much better replacement of Drew Lock from last season. They can still make a playoff push as they have a very important matchup coming up with the 6-4 Chargers this Sunday at home.
22. Washington Football Team (Previous Rank: 26)
The Football team picked up a huge win this Sunday against Carolina. It keeps their season alive and sticks them at 4-6. QB Taylor Heinicke had another great game as he has been everything Washington has hoped for when QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went down early in the season. The QB ended with 235 total yards and three TDs Sunday as it was just enough to defeat the Panthers. The Football Team’s postseason hopes are still alive but they will have to continue this two-game win streak to do so. They have Seattle on Monday night this week.
23. Las Vegas Raiders (Previous Rank: 22)
The Raiders have been up and down all year but as of late have looked horrendous. They can’t seem to find any rhythm on offense and the defense is getting worse and worse each week. They are 5-5 like many other teams but their level of play is not on par with many of them. They have lost their last three in a row and most would not be surprised if they continue this losing streak. They need to find a rhythm on offense and fast if they want to keep their season alive. They will travel to Dallas on Thanksgiving in another very difficult matchup.
24. Seattle Seahawks (Previous Rank: 23)
Seattle has now dropped their last two and their record has now dipped to 3-7. Even with Russell Wilson the Seahawks struggles continue to worsen, as the offense looked abysmal. The defense also had no answer for Cardinals backup QB Colt McCoy who had his best game of the season on Sunday. Seattle’s combination of injuries and
poor play has led fans to believe a rebuild is coming in the near future. They will play against Washington on Monday in what is a must win game.
25. Miami Dolphins (Previous Rank: 27)
Miami has now won two straight as the defense is playing much better. The Dolphins season has been underwhelming to say the least but these past few weeks they have made a strong effort to make the most of it going into next year. QB Tua Tagovailoa put up a respectable 273 passing yards and two TDs, as he has looked much better coming back from the injured list. The Dolphins will look to get their third straight win against Carolina on Sunday.
26. Atlanta Falcons (Previous Rank: 25)
After sliding into the seventh seed the Falcons in true Atlanta fashion proceeded to lose their next two games in blowout fashion. After showing fans a sliver of hope the Falcons stripped it all away as they were shut out 25-0 by the Patriots this past Thursday. The offense was non-existent as a frustrated Matt Ryan looks like he has had enough. The Falcons look to break the losing streak this week against a far less superior Jags team.
27. Houston Texans (Previous Rank: 32)
WOW! The Texans shocked the world as they defeated the AFC’s top team in the Titans. It was all about Houston’s defense in this one as they managed to pick off QB Ryan Tannehill four times! The Texans snapped their eight-game losing streak and picked up their first win since week one. They will try and build off this win when they go against the Jets this Sunday.
28. New York Giants (Previous Rank: 24)
The Giants were dominated this Monday by a far superior Bucs team. The Bucs outplayed them on both sides of the ball, dominating them in every aspect. Giants star RB Saquon Barkley did return from the injured list but had little impact in this one. The Giants offense is not clicking and it’s costing them big time. They will attempt to figure it out this week when they face a scorching hot Eagles team, in an attempt to keep their season alive.
29. Chicago Bears (Previous Rank: 28)
There were reports that the Bears plan to move on from head coach Matt Nagy, Bears fans have been practically begging for this for the past two seasons. Nagy’s offensive game plan is one of the worst in the league. The Bears showed us this past Sunday that even when they seem to have the game locked up they somehow manage to blow it. They will hope to get rookie QB Justin Fields back soon as he looked like he sustained a rib injury in Sunday’s game. They will take on the Lions in the first game on Thanksgiving.
30. Jacksonville Jaguars (Previous Rank: 29)
After their impressive play the last two weeks, the Jags were dominated by a far better Niners team. The offense could not get anything going as first overall pick Trevor Lawrence still doesn’t seem like he has it figured out yet. The QB struggled, ending with a measly 181 total yards. The future looks bright for Jacksonville; they just need to figure out the right style of play for their offense. They will face the Falcons at home this week.
31. New York Jets (Previous Rank: 31)
Joe Flacco played pretty good this past Sunday and was the only positive for the Jets this past week. The season has not gone well for the Jets at all, but they do have a few bright spots like their young WR core, and more specifically rookie WR Elijah Moore. The rookie ended with 8 receptions for 141 yards and a TD. Joe Flacco managed to turn back the clock ending with a very respectable 291 yards and two TDs. The Jets will get back rookie QB Zach Wilson this week as they face the Texans on Sunday.
32. Detroit Lions (Previous Rank: 30)
Detroit remained winless on Sunday after playing well on the defensive end against the Browns. The Lions offense not including D’Andre Swift has been extremely bad this season. QB Jared Goff is barely surviving as a starter as he looks worse each game. The Lions continue their quest for their first win as they take on the Bears on Thanksgiving.
