Baldwin
-Neil Armstrong, 27, of Uniondale, and Chadd Trent, 21, of Freeport, entered a residence on Milburn Avenue through a basement window and stole computer hardware/software and video games on Nov. 30, according to police.
Great Neck
-Charles Barnwell, 26, of St. Albans, was arrested On Dec. 1 for possession of personal information and credit card numbers. According to police, Barnwell collected information from numerous victims in North Carolina and allegedly used those to make Internet purchases of up to $40,000, including over $5,000 worth from Avante Fashions. Acting in consort with Barnwell, defendant Steve Banarsee, 31, received a package of stolen merchandise after falsely identifying himself as one of the victims.
Hicksville
-A male victim, Mohammad Ali, 59, was stabbed to death on Nov. 4 while working as a cashier at an Exxon Gas Station on North Broadway, according to police. was Police said a black male subject was seen entering a late 90’s black Oldsmobile Aurora and fleeing the scene northbound on Broadway at the time of the robbery. The subject is described as 6 feet to 6 feet and 1 inch tall, 30 to 32 years old, with a medium length afro, wearing a black jacket and black pants. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the subject and an additional $12,000 has been offered by the Hicksville business community.
-According to police Craig Saboski, 48, of New Hyde Park, was armed with a handgun when he entered Botto Brothers Plumbing on Nov. 29 and chased victim Linda Erlichman, 50, to the back of the store. The subject then shot the victim several times before apparently shooting himself. The subject and victim had a previous personal relationship.
Levittown
-An unknown male subject entered Citibank on Hempstead Turnpike on Dec. 1, passed a demand note to the teller, and placed a package (which the note indicated was a bomb) onto the counter. The subject is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, with a reddish-brown goatee, wearing a tan raincoat, a red button-front shirt, a gray hat and glasses. He fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, leaving the device behind. Bank personnel were evacuated and the alleged bomb was determined to be a hoax.
Lynbrook
-According to police, a dark skinned black male, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, 200 pounds, mid to late 20’s, armed with a silver handgun and wearing what appeared to be a FedEx delivery uniform knocked on the front door of a 26-year-old female victim’s residence on Lynbrook Avenue on Nov. 29. The victim opened the door and the male forced himself inside. A second male, described as black, medium complexion, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds and wearing all black clothing also entered the residence. The female victim was handcuffed and placed inside a closet. The suspects ransacked the residence, removing a small safe, jewelry and an undetermined amount of U.S. currency. The suspects fled in a grey or silver minivan.
Massapequa
-While working as a temporary clerical worker at Island Orthopedics on Nov. 10, police say Ashleigh Smith, 18, of Roosevelt, removed three credit cards from the wallet of a 48-year-old co-worker and used the cards in different stores for a total approximate value of $3,000.
Rockville Center
-According to police, five male Hispanics (heights ranging from 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches), one armed with a crowbar and one wearing a yellow shirt, entered a residence on Nov. 30, and while walking through the home came upon the victim, 25, asleep in his bedroom. Police say two of the subjects then tied the victim up with an electric cord while the other subjects broke down the bedroom door and stole an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, a laptop computer, a camcorder and a digital camera.
Roosevelt
-A black male subject, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black plastic mask and black clothing, armed with a handgun and a black female subject about 5 feet tall, medium build, wearing a black plastic mask and black clothing, entered Deli Pizza on Nov. 29 and demanded money from the clerk, according to police. The female subject then went behind the counter and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the cash register. The subjects fled on foot southbound on Babylon Tpke.
Westbury
-Wen Li Wang, 35, was observed walking from store to store in the vicinity of State Street and Main Street selling DVDs on Dec. 1. When detectives stopped the defendant the DVDs were inspected and appeared to be counterfeit based on the packaging and their content. After further investigation it was determined that the DVDs were bearing counterfeit trademarks.
-According to police, Jose Giraldo, 33, of Hicksville, wearing a pink scarf and what detectives described as a female’s tan hat, entered the women’s bathroom inside PF Chang’s on Old Country Road on Dec. 1, where he then disabled a light above his stall, climbing onto the fixtures to do so, and also moved boxes into the stall, providing himself with a place to hide from occupants of adjacent stalls. Subsequently, two female victims observed the defendant behaving in a lewd manner, while peering at them from beneath the divider. Each woman fled the bathroom to notify others, and the defendant was arrested.
-On Nov. 29, a black male subject, 25-years-old, 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a green wool cap with brim, gray waist length hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and white sneakers, entered a North Fork Bank on Old Country Road and handed a demand note to the teller, according to police. The teller handed the subject an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency before the subject fled on foot westbound on Old Country Road.
