1. Drexel University: 4-1 (1-0)
After losing its first game of the 2006 regular season, Drexel found its groove by defeating St. John’s in its fourth straight victory. The Dragons head to No. 18 Albany on Saturday.
2. No. 11 University of Delaware: 7-0 (0-0)
Delaware has been on a mission since opening day, winning all seven games thus far. In the team’s latest win over Albany, three of the four periods were decided by only one goal. However, the Blue Hens dominated the second quarter, 6-2, on its way to an 18-11 win.
3. No. 15 Pride: 2-1 (0-0)
The Pride picked up a huge 11-6 win last Saturday over No. 7 Johns Hopkins, as Tom Dooley led the Pride with three goals. Leading 6-1 at halftime, the Blue & Gold played even with the defending national champion Blue Jays, pulling off a major upset in the process.
4. Villanova University: 2-3 (0-0)
Saturday’s 7-6 overtime loss to Binghamton dropped Villanova under .500 for the season. Leading 6-1 heading into the final quarter, the Wildcats were shut out 5-0 to lose the game. Villanova will not play its first CAA game until March 25 against Drexel.
5. No. 16 Towson University: 1-2 (0-0)
After being shut out in the first half by top ranked Maryland, Towson showed a valiant effort against the Terrapins by taking the second half, 6-5. However, the late surge was too little too late, as the Tigers lost, 9-6.
6. Sacred Heart University: 0-4 (0-0)
Although Sacred Heart has begun the 2006 season 0-4, each loss has come by two goals or less. Bobby Carl had a stand out game with three goals and one assist, but it wasn’t enough in an 11-9 at the hands of Air Force last Friday.
7. Robert Morris University: 1-4 (0-1)
Robert Morris’ impressive 9-1 victory over Seton Hall on opening day was not a sign of things to come. Since the win, the Colonials have lost four consecutive games. Their next two contests will be home conference match-ups against Villanova and Towson
