With all the hottest trends for the season being shown in many magazines, it is easy to fall in love with a look. Unfortunately, most of the time the prices for designer styles are too steep for a student’s budget.
It is easier than you might think to create a certain fall and winter trend like the skinny jeans matched with a warm thermal top. The look seems to be the obsession that won’t seem to go away anytime soon.
The model in the lower right is wearing the red “Skinny Glory Jean” by Habitual, which is a denim pant with a four-pocket styling that has single button closure. On the back of the pant there is a Maltese cross patch embellishment on the pockets. The jeans cost $185.
The top that the model wears is by Primp, and it is called the “Heart Crew Neck Thermal.” It’s a cozy thermal tee with lattice heart print-perfect since the chillier weather might finally be arriving. Rhinestone detail dazzles at the bust, waist and back and the top values at $79.
The large tote is a must-have of the season, as well. Pictured is the “Crinkle Leather Large Tote” by Seven Jeans. It is a wrinkled leather handbag with magnetic patch pockets at the front, with zipper pockets along the sides. The price of this bag is $785. This whole designer look comes in at the grand total of $1,049 and can be found online at ShopBop.com.
But what college student has that much of her own money to spend on a cute, yet inaccessible outfit like this? The answer is: very few.
Sophomore Terese Graziano knows how to make the same look work, at a slightly more affordable price. She is pictured wearing a pair of “Lola Straights” by Lucky Brand jeans, a thermal from Kohl’s-which looks strikingly similar to the more expensive one because of the lattice print-and a tote by Zumiez.
The most expensive item she is wearing is her jeans that cost $118. However, the rest of her outfit balances it out, as her thermal was a bargain at only $16 and the tote has a retail price of $50.
Graziano’s outfit cost her a total of $184. This designer look, as well as many others, is easier to achieve than you might initially think just seeing price tags. It just takes a little patience and looking around!
