On the evening of Tuesday, September 11, Hofstra students held an “In Remembrance” candlelight vigil at 7:30 p.m. at the Mack Student Center clock.
In memory of those who lost their lives six years ago, bells rang through the public address system at 8:45 a.m., 9:03 a.m., 9:43 a.m., 10:05 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. At 10:28 a.m., the bells rang 27 times, in honor of each member of the Hofstra community who perished on September 11, 2001.
A wreath was placed at the foot of the Phoenix, a September 11 memorial, which is adjacent to the Labyrinth outside C.V. Starr Hall.
