East Hills
-According to detectives, defendant Evelyn J. Garza, 46, while employed as a security guard at Roslyn High School, had two bags of cocaine fall out of her pocket in full view of a teacher and a student in a school hallway. She was arrested on March 21 for possession of a controlled substance.
Elmont
-Detectives report that on March 23, a black female subject, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 25 to 30 years old, thin build, wearing a three-quarter length black leather jacket, sunglasses and a light colored hat, entered the Emigrant Savings Bank and presented a demand note to the female teller, 23. The victim complied and handed the subject an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The subject then fled on foot through the front door of the bank in an unknown direction.
-Robert Dominguez, 31, and Eduardo Dominguez, 27, both of Brooklyn, were arrested on March 20 for offering to sell cocaine to a confidential informant for an agreed upon amount. The defendants offered to sell in excess of one-quarter kilograms of alleged cocaine.
Hempstead
-A victim and three friends were standing on the corner of South Franklin Street and Marvin Avenue, on March 25, when one of the three unknown male subjects, standing on an opposite street corner, fired approximately three rounds from a small caliber handgun, one of which struck the 37-year-old victim in the upper back.
-Dubner Saintilus, 37, of Huntington Station, while employed as a math teacher for Hempstead High School and tutoring a female student, fondled the 16-year-old victim/student who left the room and subsequently reported the incident to her parent. Saintilus was arrested on March 20 for sexual abuse.
-James Wright, 30, and Lamar Pearl, 29, acting in concert and armed with a loaded .38 caliber handgun, forced entry, on March 19, into an apartment on Terrace Avenue and confronted the sole occupant, demanding cash. The victim relinquished $60 and the subjects fled with it, on foot.
-Two pedestrians walking near Patterson Avenue, on March 21, heard what sounded like a gunshot coming from behind them. They turned and four masked males were running up to them, two of them armed with handguns. They aimed at the victims and demanded money. The female victim gave them her purse and fled the scene. The male victim was struck in the stomach and forced into a vehicle where he was robbed of his wallet. The subjects are described as black males, wearing face masks and hoods. The vehicle is described as a red Honda Accord with a brown cloth interior.
North Bellmore
-A victim was in her home on March 21 when a male entered her residence on Marshall Avenue through a bathroom window. The suspect threatened the victim with a knife and removed $80 in cash from the victim’s dresser. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
Old Westbury
-A student was in his dorm room on his computer at SUNY Old Westbury on March 21, when two males entered his room. The victim was ordered to the ground and was punched several times in the face when he struggled with the intruders. One suspect held the victim down while the other tried to take his laptop from the desk. The laptop was locked to the desk by a cable and when the suspects could not remove it, they fled out a fire door exit. The subjects are described as black males, one with a full facemask and hood pulled over his face. The other subject was wearing a grey bandana over his face with his hood pulled up.
Plainview
-According to detectives, while conducting a VTL investigation of defendant Joseph Sorrentino, 34, whom they reportedly observed consuming beer while driving his 1995 Honda on Round Swamp Road, found his passenger, Deirdre Donovan, 20, in possession of a quantity of heroin. The couple’s infant son was in the car at the time. Further investigation revealed the couple was also in possession of multiple gift cards, reported stolen from a purse inside Stop N Shop. They were arrested on March 24.
Roosevelt
-Golden Kitchen Chinese Food Restaurant, on Nassau Road, received an order via cell phone on March 25, for delivery to Prospect Street. As the deliveryman stood outside the front of the location, he called back the phone number and was told by an unknown male to go to the front door. As the victim did so, two unknown male subjects, wearing black ski masks, approached him from each side, pushed him to the ground and simulating possession of a handgun demanded his money. The subjects fled with the food and the victim’s cash.
-Two unknown male subjects, one armed with a rifle, entered Sarah Brown Catering on Nassau Road on March 25, and demanded money of the 51-year-old male owner. After a prolonged struggle with the victim, who did not relinquish proceeds, the subjects exited the location and fled southbound in a dark, shiny Maxima, or Chrysler 300-type vehicle with spoked chrome rims.
