- A resident director of Twin Oaks reported finding a cat in a resident room on April 13. An operation manager and public safety officer was called and the resident was issued an appearance summons.
- Universal Studios contacted the University and reported that “Seed of Chucky” had been downloaded illegally on April 13. The University traced the IP address to a residents room in Estabrook Hall and the resident was issued an appearance summons for unauthorized use of copy righted material.
- Universal Studios contacted the University reporting that the movie “Hitch” was downloaded illegally on April 13. The IP address was traced to a resident room, and the resident was issued an appearance summons.
- A University student reported that while she was in her boyfriend’s room in Enterprise Hall on April 14 at 2:10 a.m., she heard a loud bang at the door and discovered that the door knob had been removed. Public Safety was called to search for a suspect, who was not found.
- A Lackmann supervisor reported that two unidentified males and females took three sodas and a strawberry fruitcake from Bits and Bytes without paying on April 14. Lackmann employees said they will report the individuals to public safety if they return to the restaurant.
- A University student reported that after he left his room on April 14, his laptop computer was stolen. He reported that his door was locked when he left, but was found propped open when he returned. Public Safety conducted a search of the building, but no suspects were found. The student declined police assistance.
- A University student reported that while he was walking near the Student Center on April 15, a vehicle drove past a stop sign and almost hit him. He then had a verbal altercation with the driver and moments later several males got out of the vehicle, verbally abused the student, saying that they were from ZBT and threatened to assault him. They then fled the scene. Public Safety was called and found the suspects, who were all issued appearance summonses.
- A University faculty member reported that his Apple G 14 inch notebook was stolen from his office in Calkins Hall on April 15. He declined assistance from the police department.
- A University student reported on April 15 that she was accosted on the northeast corner of Front Street and California Avenue on April 10 by an unidentified male. The suspect snatched her purse, which contained a license, credit card, $200 in cash, an IPOD and two bankcards. The student was not injured and the incident was reported to the Nassau County Police.
- A female University student reported that on April 16 she had a verbal altercation with another female University student, whose boyfriend punched and spit at her. The girl and the male fled the bar in a black vehicle. The student was treated at the Information Center and the Hempstead police department was notified. There is an investigation pending.
- A University administrator from student activities reported on April 18 receiving numerous unwanted emails, some of a sexual nature, between March 18 and April 18. The University is investigating the matter.
- A University resident student of Alliance Hall reported finding an unidentified male in her room when she returned from the restroom on April 18. When she questioned what he was doing, the male fled abruptly. The complainant called public safety for a search, but the individual was not found.
- Public safety received a report regarding a dispute in the student government office on April 18. A field supervisor and a public safety officer arrived at the scene and observed two students arguing. The students were issued appearance summonses for their actions.
- Public safety reported an altercation between two students in C.V. Starr Hall on April 19. A male student at the scene said during a verbal argument he was assaulted by another student who was wearing a blue jacket with “ZBT” lettering. The harasser had fled by the time public safety arrived. The complainant was not injured.
- Public safety received a report on a male jumping on a pogo stick in the courtyard of Netherlands North on April 19. The male had been previously warned by residential life not to use the pogo stick. The student was issued an appearance summons and the pogo stick was confiscated.
- A University student in Enterprise Hall reported receiving threats from her roommate and accused the roommate of using alcohol and drugs on April 19. The accused was issued an appearance summons. Later that day the accused roommate filed a cross complaint reporting similar accusations about her roommate, who also received an appearance summons.
