The Governors Ball is ready to kick off at Citi Field from Friday, June 10, through Sunday, June 12, with some of the most famous names in the music industry headlining. Starting the festival off on Friday, Jack Harlow and Louis the Child will take the stage, with Kid Cudi finishing the night on the GovBallNYC stage. On Saturday, Roddy Rich, Joji and Flume take the stage, with Halsey finishing off the night on the GovBallLNYC stage. Clairo, Glass Animals and Kaytranada will perform and finish off the festival on Sunday. Closing out the festival is headliner J. Cole performing on the GovballNYC stage at 8:30 p.m. and Playboi Carti performing on the GoPuff stage at 9 p.m. The festival lineup has changed slightly since it was first announced. Migos was supposed to perform on Friday and was replaced by Lil Wayne.
The festival has changed a little bit since last year. At the 2021 festival, there were four main stages for artists to perform. The main stage where the headliners perform is the GovBallNYC stage presented by Verizon. The other stages were the Bacardi stage, Honda stage and Grubhub stage. At this year’s festival, the Honda stage has been replaced by the GoPuff stage, and the Grubhub stage is replaced by the merchandise tent. One major change to the festival’s layout is that there is no longer a set of stairs that gives festival goers a full circle to walk around in. Now that the stairs are not there, guests are forced to walk around to get to the other side, making the festival a semi-circle.
Here are a few artists to look out for:
Julia Wolf, an indie-pop singer/songwriter, will be performing at the GovBallNYC stage on Friday, June 10, from 1 p.m. to 1:45 pm and again on the Bud Light stage from 4:35 to 5:05 p.m. Wolf’s new single “Hot Killer” will be released later this month.
De’Wayne, an alt-rock singer/rapper, will be performing at the GoPuff stage on Sunday at 12:50 p.m. He is currently on a North American tour, “De’Wayne’s World,” which runs until the end of July. His new song “GOOD MOOD” was released on Thursday, June 2.
Aly & AJ, a pop duo, will be performing at the GoPuff stage on Friday at 1:10 pm. The duo is a performance that is not to be missed.
Beabadoobee, a pop artist, will be performing at the GovBallNYC stage on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Her highly anticipated album “Beatopia” is out July 15, and she will be releasing a new single, “Talk,” shortly after Gov Ball.
Plastic Picnic, a dream-pop band, will be performing at the GovBallNYC stage on Friday at noon. The band’s long-awaited debut album “As Long As You Need” will be released July 29.
