WOMEN'S BBALLDelaware is currently in second place in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) standings with a 16-4 overall record. Last week, Co-CAA Player of the Week Tyresa Smith averaged 18.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game for the Hens. Maralene Zwarich of Northeastern was named the other CAA Player of the Week. VCU center Quanitra Hollingsworth was named CAA Rookie of the Week.

MEN'S X-COUNTRYIan Fitzgerald of William & Mary (W&M) was named CAA Men's Runner of the Year. Fitzgerald won the CAA Cross Country Championship and then followed that up with a third-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional meet. Fitzgerald's coach at W&M, Alex Gibby was named CAA Coach of the Year, guiding the team to its sixth straight conference championship. Georgia State freshman Mark Steeds was named the CAA Men's Rookie of the Year, finishing 12th at the CAA Cross Country Championships and earned All-CAA honors.

WOMEN'S X-COUNTRYShannon Saunders of James Madison University (JMU) was named the Women's CAA Runner of the Year. The four-time All-CAA selection captured her second consecutive individual title at the CAA Cross Country Championship by winning the 6,000-meter race. The Pride's Mary Sullivan was named CAA Rookie of the Year. She was the top-finishing freshman at the CAA Cross Country Championship, finishing second overall.

MEN'S SOCCERDelaware named Ian Hennessy its new head soccer coach. Hennessy, a former All-American at Seton Hall University, has spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Boston College.

SWIMMING & DIVINGTowson's Gordon Amato was named the Men's CAA Swimmer of the Week, as he won three individual events to help Towson defeat, Loyola 120-109. With the win Towson broke a nine-meet losing streak. The CAA Men's Diver of the Week was Dana Berman of UNC Wilmington. The senior won both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards in a win over the College of Charleston.On the women's side, UNC-Wilmington senior Rebekah Teague was named the CAA Swimmer of the Week. She won two individual events and swam a winning relay as UNCW improved to 9-2 and 5-0 in the conference. Shannon Burke of Delaware was named the Women's Diver of the Week. Burke took first and second in the diving events as Delaware lost to Bucknell, 141-102.

WRESTLINGRyan Hluschak of Drexel won both his matches, improving to 23-6 overall and was named Co-CAA Wrestler of the Week. The other Wrestler of the Week was Randy Oates of George Mason, who won both of his matches last week in the 174-pound weight class. GMU's Tyler Tisdell was named Men's CAA Co-Rookie of the Week as he won both his matches and improved to 21-7 overall. The other Rookie of the Week was Doug Umbehauer of Rider. Umbehauer won both his matches as Rider defeated Rutgers, 26-15. Umbehauer is ranked third in the 174-pound weight class and improved to 13-4 overall.
