The Hofstra Cheerleading Team is on top of the world once again, winning the Small Co-ed title for the fourth year in a row, and the sixth time in seven years. Lead by coach Christine Farina, the Pride traveled to Orlando in January to compete in the Universal Cheerleaders Association College Nationals, where they've won the past three years. This year was no different.
Five Hofstra cheerleaders were chosen to represent the United States of America at the International Cheerleading Union (ICU) World Championships of Cheerleading this past weekend, April 23, in Orlando, Florida. Hofstra's own Samantha Montemurro, Arianna Scanlon, Brittany Schoenig, Alexa Sibilio, and Alie Sturchio were among the twenty-four cheerleaders from across the country that made up the all-girl Team USA cheer team.
Often times winning back to back national championships would make major headlines, but despite the intense workload the Hofstra cheerleading team puts in and the great success they have had, not much praise is showered upon them.
