Runners are a special breed. Their work ethic, dedication and perseverance are unmatched. Hofstra University cross country and track athlete Paul Markovina is no exception.
Junior Alex Masai placed fourth in the 2019 Penn Relays 5000-meter run on Thursday, April 25 to lead the Hofstra track team in their multiples meets of the weekend. Three days later, Masai along with his teammates headed to New Haven, Connecticut to compete in the Yale Springtime Invitational.
Junior Alex Masai broke the 10K school record on Saturday, April 13, as the Hofstra track team divided and conquered with some athletes attending the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic in Pennsylvania, and others the Rider University Invitational in New Jersey.
36 runners represented Hofstra men’s and women’s track on Saturday, March 30, in the Pride’s second meet of the season at Monmouth University’s Season Opener Invitational at Kessler Stadium. The 16 men and 20 women did not compete in any individual track or field events and instead focused solely on the 4x100 meter relay races.
Hofstra’s men’s and women’s track teams headed to Stony Brook University on Saturday, March 23, to compete in the Snow Flake Spring Opener outdoor track meet. The meet officially kicked off the Pride’s inaugural track season in the NCAA.
