 “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” is a return to the classic Spider-Man stories seen prior to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Since Spider-Man’s addition to the MCU, fans have been divided on the handling of his character, as the MCU wedged him between the Avengers and the multiverse. “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” impressed fans by addressing their issues with the MCU’s Spider-Man story and reworking it to create a new start for the young hero which is not part of the MCU. 

When “BoJack Horseman” first hit the scene on Netflix in 2014, the adult animation psychological comedy-drama opened to mixed reviews. However, from the midway point of Season 1 all the way to the Season 6 series finale, the show’s legacy cemented itself among greatness. 

Nearly a decade after announcing his retirement, celebrated filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli released “The Boy and the Heron” in Japan in July 2023 and in the United States in Dec. 2023. The film was written and directed by Miyazaki, who earned his second Oscar after “The Boy and the Heron” won the 2023 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

In recent years, adapting beloved animated shows into live-action formats has gained far too much momentum in the entertainment industry. From childhood classics such as “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “The Fairly OddParents” to modern favorites like the recently ordered live-action adaptation of Disney’s “Moana,” major studios have been quick to capitalize on nostalgia by bringing these animated worlds to life on the big screen.

It was all about family in season six of the critically-acclaimed Netflix original series “Big Mouth.” The new season of the raunchy adult animation was released on Oct. 28 and continued to put on display its coming-of-age story, as well as its absurd and over-the-top comedic prowess.
