Hofstra’s season comes to an end in CAA semis

The Hofstra Pride men’s lacrosse team lost its Colonial Athletic Association tournament quarterfinal game against University of Massachusetts 10-6 on Thursday night at Garber Field, ending the Pride’s season.

Men’s lacrosse opens up conference play with victory

On a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium, the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team defeated the Towson Tigers 9-3. This was the first game of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) schedule. Hofstra now holds a 5-4 record (1-0 in CAA play) while Towson drops to 3-6 (0-1) on the year.

It was a big day for junior Jimmy Yanes as he scored four goals, but the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team, ranked No. 19 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll, fell to a 9-8 loss in its final scrimmage of preseason play against the Hobart College Statesmen at James H.
