James Madison University limited the Hofstra baseball team to six hits to defeat the Pride 9-3 in the Pride’s regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at University Field. 

In the opening day of their final series of the regular season, the Hofstra Pride baseball team split a doubleheader at home against James Madison University, winning the first game 4-1 before being edged out in the second match 2-3 on Friday afternoon, May 11.

The Hofstra University baseball team lost 3-0 to the Northeastern University Huskies in the rubber match game of a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) clash on Sunday afternoon at University Field.

Vito Friscia hit a base-clearing single in the bottom of the seventh inning that completed Hofstra baseball’s 6-4 comeback win over Northeastern University on Saturday afternoon at University Field.

Hofstra baseball fell to Elon University on Sunday in North Carolina 5-3 to complete the Phoenix’s sweep over the Pride.

This loss also marks Hofstra’s fifth consecutive game out of the win column, bringing the team’s overall record to 14-14 and 4-8 in Colonial Athletic Association play.

The Pride couldn’t do the talking with their bats this afternoon.

After scoring 20 runs combined in the last two-games, Hofstra only managed to scrap together two-runs and three hits in a 5-2 loss in extra innings to the Delaware Fighting Blue Hens. The Pride failed to complete the sweep of their CAA opponent. 

Hofstra baseball fell victim to Towson University’s late inning heroics in a 5-3 loss Saturday afternoon at Schuerholz Park.

The game came down to the final out with Hofstra leading 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth. Richie Palacios stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and delivered a two-out walk-off grand slam.

A two-run go-ahead double in the eighth inning from Rob Weissheier lifted Hofstra baseball to its eighth consecutive win Sunday 4-2 against University of Maryland Baltimore County in Maryland.
