The Hofstra Pride men’s lacrosse team lost its Colonial Athletic Association tournament quarterfinal game against University of Massachusetts 10-6 on Thursday night at Garber Field, ending the Pride’s season.

This probably isn’t quite what fans of the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team expected to see when the regular season came to an end and the CAA’s top four teams gathered to compete for a conference title and a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

After overcoming a 6-2 first quarter deficit, the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team ended up dropping their second straight Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) matchup, this one coming as a 10-9 loss to the University of Delaware on Saturday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium

For the third straight year, the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team has defeated the University of North Carolina, this time beating the eighth-ranked Tar Heels by a score of 12-6 on Saturday afternoon at Shuart Stadium on the strength of Dylan McIntosh’s first career hat trick.

In a disappointing home opener, Hofstra men’s lacrosse fell to Villanova University 7-2 on Saturday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium. The Pride is now 0-2 on the year with Villanova jumping to 3-0. 

After an all-time best 10-0 start ended in bitter disappointment, the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team returns to battle for 2018 with a sour taste in their mouth and vengeance on their mind.

It was a big day for junior Jimmy Yanes as he scored four goals, but the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team, ranked No. 19 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll, fell to a 9-8 loss in its final scrimmage of preseason play against the Hobart College Statesmen at James H. Shuart Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
