The 2018 season for the Hofstra Pride softball team came to a devastating end Saturday evening with a loss against No. 9 University of South Carolina, 5-4.

On the brink of elimination, Hofstra's Sophie Dandola delivers the NCAA's first no hitter in the regional round of postseason play since 2013, earning the Pride a 6-0 win against UNCG Saturday afternoon.

The Hofstra Pride softball team, which entered the NCAA tournament as the No. 24 seed, fell to Liberty University 2-0 in 10 innings of play at the NCAA regional opener in South Carolina on Friday night. 

After defeating the Towson Tigers 9-4 on Wednesday afternoon in Game 1 of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship Tournament, the Pride took on longstanding rivals, the James Madison University Dukes, at Veterans Memorial Park and came out victorious 9-6. 

In the Hofstra softball team’s first game in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament, the Pride, who entered the CAA Tournament as the No. 2 seed, defeated the No. 3 seed Towson Tigers 9-4 in Virginia on Wednesday afternoon.

The Pride began their final series of the regular season against Towson University on Friday in Maryland, splitting the doubleheader in a 4-3 loss in the first game, and a 12-0 win in the second.

Hofstra softball completed the sweep over Elon University on Sunday with an 8-2 victory in North Carolina to remain undefeated in conference play.

Brittany Allocca’s six-RBI game led the way, going 3-3 with two home runs and two walks. This marks her eighth multi-hit game this season and fifth multi-RBI performance.

The Hofstra softball team brought home its ninth and tenth win of its last 11 games after it handled Elon in the twin bill Saturday afternoon, winning game one 10-1, and game two 5-1.
