Hofstra falls victim to second-half surge from High Point to close out season

A strong start led to a detrimental second half for the Hofstra womens lacrosse team at James M. Shuart Stadium on Thursday evening. The Pride fell to No. 19 High Point University in a disappointing 13-9 loss to close out the regular season.

Alyssa Parrella tallied four goals and two assists as she led Hofstra womens lacrosse in a fiery comeback in which they cut a six goal deficit to two goals, but were unable to complete the effort. The Pride fell to No. 8 Towson University 15-11 on Friday night at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

Mattera and Whelan shine as Hofstra easily handles Central Connecticut State

The Hofstra womens lacrosse team dominated Central Connecticut State University on Friday night with a decisive 15-3 victory in New Britain, Connecticut. Freshman Katie Whelan and sophomore Alexa Mattera led the Pride with four goals each. Hofstra improved to 5-4 on the season with the win.
