Softball dispatches Towson in regular season finale

Hofstra softball wrapped up its final game of the regular season against Towson University on Saturday afternoon with a 4-2 win in Maryland. The Pride finished the regular with 37 wins and 12 losses overall and a record of 17-4 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play.

The Hofstra softball team opened this weekend’s series with the College of Charleston by sweeping Saturday afternoon’s doubleheader at Bill Edwards Stadium. The Pride extended their win streak to five games after winning the first game 11-1 and the second game 10-2. The Pride are now 8-0 in conference play.

The Hofstra Pride softball team saw their season end last year two games shy of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title. After posting an 11-8 conference record, good for second best in the CAA, the team succumbed to Dukes of James Madison University. Hofstra is no stranger to JMU, who has won three of the last four conference championships. This season, there is just one goal in mind for the Pride: taking back the CAA.
