In the opening day of their final series of the regular season, the Hofstra Pride baseball team split a doubleheader at home against James Madison University, winning the first game 4-1 before being edged out in the second match 2-3 on Friday afternoon, May 11.

The victory extends the Pride’s win streak to four games, bringing them to 18-15 (7-8 CAA), and the 15-run barrage marks the highest scoring total this season.
Rob Weissheier capped off a last-inning rally with a two-run walkoff bomb as the Hofstra baseball team clawed back from a three-run deficit to knock off the College of Charleston 5-4 on Sunday afternoon, sealing the series sweep against the Cougars.
Hofstra ensured themselves a series victory against the College of Charleston on Saturday afternoon in a 2-1 win over the Cougars. Matt Weissheier gave the Pride a much-needed performance on the mound, throwing 6.1 shutout innings while allowing just three hits.

Coming into Saturday’s matchup with the Elon University Phoenix, the Hofstra Pride baseball team was on a three-game losing streak, having not scored more than three runs in those games. Those offensive struggles continued on Saturday at Elon, as Hofstra dropped their fourth consecutive contest by a score of 6-3.
The Pride couldn’t do the talking with their bats this afternoon.
After scoring 20 runs combined in the last two-games, Hofstra only managed to scrap together two-runs and three hits in a 5-2 loss in extra innings to the Delaware Fighting Blue Hens. The Pride failed to complete the sweep of their CAA opponent.
Daniel Page doubled home Hofstra’s series-clinching runs in the Pride’s first conference series win of the season with a commanding 11-1 victory over the University of Delaware at University Field on Saturday.
Vito Friscia’s four-RBI day led Hofstra baseball to a 14-6 victory over Monmouth University on Tuesday in New Jersey.
Friscia got the action going right from the start with a RBI groundout in the first inning. The Pride never trailed in the contest after.
